Cheese Cappeletti travelled from Newfoundland my girlfriend got food poisoning the next day throwing up from 6 am to 12 noon it has ruined are trip do not recommend
Favorite Dish: Cheese Cappeletti and chicken macroni
My boyfriend was served an uncooked and cold piece of fish at this restaurant on New Years eve and spent New Years day with severe stomach pain and all other symptoms of food poisoning.
When we called to let them know and inquire about other cases they were unappologetic and rude.
We generally found that the restaurant was disorganized.
There are so many great restaurants in Toronto, I would strongtly discourage others from attending this one.
We ate at Gretzky's after coming across it's website before travelling to Toronto. The menu is varied with something for everyone. There is ice skating memorabilia everywhere in the bar and restaurant which I'm sure would be interesting to any skating fans. We stopped in the bar for a beer in the afternoon, after visiting the C.N. Tower, we then returned in the evening for a meal.
Favorite Dish: My Wife and I both ordered a starter which left us with a problem. They were too big to eat and still have room for your main course but too delicious to leave. We had to call it quits just to leave room for the main course which was just as good.
The place was busy and noisy when we arrived but quietened down later. The service was very good and once things were not so hectic our waiter took the chance to stand and chat for 1/2 hour. Worth a visit even for non-skating fans.
Tricky Dicky's rating 9 / 10
Despite having worked around the corner from it for years, I'd never been to the restaurant before. That changed with the visit of my cousins to Toronto, with 3 hockey-mad males. I think the oldest son was convinced that Wayne would walk in any minute, and he was wearing his brand new Edmonton Oilers "99" shirt, just in case. There were so many things to see, that it kept the kids busy when they weren't eating. It truly was a shrine for the followers of "The Great One".
The food seemed rather pricy, but I was impressed by the quality. The serving staff were very pleasant and prompt, without being over-bearing.
Favorite Dish: I had the burger - a huge hockey-puck of good, well-cooked (but not over-cooked) beef, with bacon and cheddar on it, and fries (chips). It was very good, and VERY big! Oh, and the bun was nicely branded with a "99" (Wayne's number).
My cousin had a pasta and seemed to enjoy it. Her husband had the salmon and it looked very nice. Two of the kids had the wings & fries. The dipping sauce was a little too spicy for my cousin's daughter. The other son had the spagetti and meat balls, and it was a huge order. A little too much for him to handle.
There were about 4 or 5 desserts, but we couldn't manage any. There had been talk of trying out the 10-layer cake, but it was just too much to contemplate.
Great atmosphere, Maple Leafs away to New York Rangers so loads of Leafs fans at bar cheering on there team. Meatloaf was excellent and plenty of cold beer to wash it down. Loads of Gretzky memorabilia on the walls and a nice but pricey souvenir shop at the exit.
Food was probably little overpriced but who cares when your eating at the "great one's place".
Favorite Dish: Steak or Meatloaf
The Great One's restraunt is far from it's owners reputation....The food is simple but a bit bland.....nothing really stood out as awesome, the prices are aimed at the tourist. Numberous momentos from Gretzky's career span the place and bar. Great location right down the street from the Cn tower and Skydome makes this place a bit busy on game days !!!!!
