    Antique shopping in Kensington Market

If you love antique shopping, Kensington Market is the place to be. They have a few antique stores here which are great to browse through. Hahaha, in this picture you can see a store with stuff from the 70's, hahaha, so much fun to see :-)

Kensington Market: Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables!

Lots of fresh fruit in Kensington Market

You can find many of these fruit and vegetable stands and shops in Kensington Market, but also in the adjecent chinatown. Seeing all these fresh fruits and their prices made me want to buy all of it! Where I live (1 1/2 hours north of Toronto) the prices are so much higher and the choice isn't as big as here. Mmmmm.. it made my mouth water! I just loved walking around here!

    Caribbean Style Fish Shop

In Kensington Market there are so many great shops, like this fresh fish shop Caribbean Style. I wish I could have taken some fresh fish with me! But I wasn't planning of going home right away and walking around with fresh fish for hours didn't seem like a good idea, LOL.

    What to buy:
Kensington Market has a lot of food shops with fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, meat, bread, cheese and also spices. There is lots to choose from!

Kensington Market: Beautiful Hidden Market in West Toronto

One of the many interesting shops at the market

What to buy: Lots of tiny shops and fruit/vegetable stands are hidden in this maze of tiny streets just west of Chinatown. Kensington Market is bordered by College Street (north) and Dundas Street (south) A huge variety of excellent produce and meat shops are found along the hidden tiny streets.

The market is famous for having a cheese shop. It sells only cheese. The choice is huge. You can hardly see the owners behind the counter due to all the cheese piled up. The man did have a sense of humor. I asked if they sell cheese. His response? Sorry, we sold out!

Great place to shop especially if you're looking for custom made things or vintage clothes.

Marmalade has amazing 60's inspired dresses.

So many different types of shops in the one area. But it closes early during the week.

What to buy: Clothes, shoes, sunglasses.

What to pay: From $5 - $200 for an item in Kensington.

Kensington Market: Most original clothing in the city.

Kensington Market is a group of stores in close proximity to one another, that sell so many unique things, from vintage clothing, antiques, beads, books, old furniture, food, jewellery, hand made clothing etc etc.

What to buy: I like the clothes certain shops sell, and the jewellery. I wouldn't go there to buy stuff I would just go there to check out the stores, which I think alone are quite a sight.

What to pay: Depends on what you buy.

This store is packed full of accessories, jewelry, and buttons. They carry a lot of little knick nacks. Johnny (the guy in the blue tee & sunglasses) got a hemp sack - haha.

There's neat little vintage finds (jewelry). There's also some vintage clothes too :)

What to buy: The vintage jewelry in the tall display cabinet! So pretty 3

    What to pay: $1+

This is such a cute little mod store 3 There are bubble teevee sets and record players and rotary phones. They have Jackie-O dresses and funky ties....

It is so cool in there and the guy that was working when I was there was so friendly and helpful 3

What to buy: The local designer earrings. They are so pretty.

    What to pay: $20+
