If you are staying in downtown Toronto and want to fly to Montreal or Ottawa you may consider flying out of the Island Airport. The planes are VTOL's not jets so the flight times are longer than by jet from the Peasron Int'l Airport , but you save time on ground travel and airport security . NOTE: You have to take a ferry over to the island . Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

good organaized and comfortable Hamilton Airport is a Canadian international airport located 6.0 nautical miles (11.11 km) southwest of the city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The airport is designed for use by large planes on overseas flights, and includes a 10,000x200 ft (3,050x60 m) paved runway with centreline lighting for low-visibility operations, as well as a smaller 6,000x150 ft (1,830x45 m) paved runway. It serves as an alternate and reliever for nearby Toronto Pearson International Airport; and was recently used during the Air France Flight 358 incident. Additionally, the airport recieved notoriety when a chartered Boeing 707 carrying rock band Bon Jovi skid off the runway. Leave a Comment Theme: AirplaneWebsite: http://www.flyhi.ca/index.shtml

Toronto has one main airport for large commercial planes. There are, however, many smaller airports for smaller planes. One of them, is the Toronto Island airport. This airport is on an island just by the city. Most of its planes are propeller. I once met a businessman from Montreal who frequented Toronto on business. He said that for his purposes, he prefers coming through this smaller airport. Arguably, the flight is longer as he travels in a small propellor plane. He then reminded me, that his meetings are in downtown Toronto, just by this airport. Think of the time travelling downtows from the main airport, the traffic etc. The flight per se may take longer, for his purposes, this method reduces time dramatically. I believe that there are even flights to New York from this airport. I have never been to this airport. What I love though, is having a drink or meal by the lake front and observing the planes over the lake arriving or departing from this small airport. In fact, if you check the picture on the given website, you will see the proximity to the city! Leave a Comment Theme: AirplaneWebsite: http://www.torontoairport.com/airport-info/toronto-island.php

In 2002 there were 25.9 million passengers making it the 29th largest airport in the world. I thought Toronto Pearson Airport would be complicated and just a large airport to navigate but it was actually a comfortable place and easy to navigate. Passengers travelling through Toronto Pearson will quickly discover that the airport is more than just terminals and runways. The GTAA has transformed shopping and dining at Toronto Pearson to ensure that all restaurants and retail shops feature goods that sell at street prices and also reflect the local flavour of Toronto. I ate at one place called the Red Rockets and experienced a language barrier oddly enough and below average food but that was just my luck I guess. I should of order the Kabobs that looked like their specialty but instead I was looking for breakfast. Leave a Comment Theme: AirplaneWebsite: http://www.gtaa.com/

 | | | | The 1rst Class Club Lounge for Canada Air | | | | | |
If you find yourself stuck in the Toronto airport for a couple of hours while waiting for a flight to Europe, check out the 1rst class club at the Toronto airport. They have free alcohol (huge selection of make it yourself, I made myself a Bloody Mary), soup, bread, salad, coffee, tea, cheese, and olives. On top of that they have nice chairs to lounge upon and a number of computers to access the internet. Of course you have to take the elevator to the fourth floor and then show your first class or buisiness class ticket on Canada Air to the receptionist before going inside and being spoiled. I managed to acquire a first class ticket from Los Angeles to Amsterdam via D.C. and Toronto by trading in 80,000 miles I had gathered up from travelling around the world the last two years. Since I am backpacking through Europe this summer of 2006, I thought why not spoil myself with a free first class ticket to Amsterdam? Theme: Airplane
