Locally produced craft-goods as well as the work of regional artists in different media can be found here. The friendly proprietor gives good information about lodging and restaurants in the area as well!
It's an old-fashioned general supply store of the kind that I imagine existing in the Northwest Territories. Young's is also home to one of the Wawa geese, and is a good place to purchase souvenirs ranging from tee-shirts to refrigerator magnets. They stock a wide variety of necessities and not-so-necessities as well. If you are in Wawa for huntin', fishin', or campin', this is a good place to obtain food and fuel for your adventures.
"Canadian Tire" is a great chain of stores, and a real slice of Canadiana. Yes they have automotive supplies here, but they also stock lots of good "guy" stuff, like sporting equipment and hardware and garden tools and a full range of polyester and twill clothing. It reminds me of the good old Montgomery Ward stores in the USA. ( I know, for many of you that's way before your time.)
Lots of knick-knacks, tschoskes, and pot-holders here. I was able to purchase some refrigerator magnets and postcards in this friendly emporium.
