Again from the Eternite river Park, a great (and a bit extenuous) adventure: hiking up the cliff to see the fjord from above. Wonderfull experience! Since the hike can be a little steep, the've put up thematic base camps on the path (a little romantic cabins, swings, benches...) so you'll have a excuse to stop!
At top, we encountered a guide who seems to spend his days there. More than happy to talk about anything and particularly the nature and the surrounding. He said we could see, on good days, beluga in the fjord.

A must-see center where the Eternite River meets the Saguenay Fjord.
A pic-nic on the fjord, kayaking in the blue deep waters, hiking up the hill and maybe even spot a few whales that can ventures up the fjord from the St-Lawrence River...
The center also offers lodging (camping or in a chalet) and activities: fishing, cycling, cruising, hiking, diaporama, movies, restaurant, and more...

In the Saguenay Fjord, it's breath taking... The coast surounding you is steep and high. The dept of the water is astonishing. The surroundings are calm and dark. You can join a group with a guide or go alone if you're experimented.

Go see the whales aboard a Zodiac.
It's a very popular activities, but seeing these big animals from up close in a Zodiac (or even a kayak) is breath taking! Some say that if you go in spring or early summer, you'll see more whales; during the summer, the water is too warm for the whales. But don't bother brigning a cameras, you'll miss almost every time (like you can see on this picture!!). A camcorder is more fun (if you have one). But please wear warm clothing! It's freezing on the water.

Address: From Tadoussac or Baie-Ste-Catherine.
An ancien village from the beggining of the century lived and died in the middle of the forest. It's now kept alive so we can discover who they were. Animation through out the location recreate the live in the village (a teacher, a priest, ...). You can walk around, follow a guide, eat, shop or go up in the mountain with the funecular or rent a room.

Pulperie de Chicoutimi (old pulp factory)
Museum about the life (now and then) in Chicoutimi. very well animated and presented. You can take a mini-bus to go up in the waterfall. You'll see the mysterious and weird House of Arthur-Villeneuve. They also present a exposition about the infamous flood which destroy part of the building. A lot of things to see, do, talk about... bring good shoes!

If you are luckier than us you can see this : the tail of a grand blue whale.
I mean : we did not see it and I did not take this photograph.

If the previous beluga photograph seems to be too poor, see this one drawn from a specialized website.

See the belugas (white whales).
They live in family and we saw several white backs like this one.
This photograph is taken with a zoom

Address: Saint Lawrence at Tadoussac.
It's where animals are free and people are in cages. In fact, it's a little train that goes around in the habitat of the animals. You can also 'play' with a charming polar bear. I had the most fun!
