Fondest memory: I live here and love the area.
I ATTENDED The International Festival of Lanaudiere at 'Joliette' IN (July and to AUg. 12th incl., 2002). I went to 6 concerts in 2000 and five in 2001. and in 2002 we went to 7.. WE recommend this to all music lovers and outdoor types. It is held mainly at a Beautiful huge outdoor AMPHITHEATRE built in a natural valley or hollow with huge red pine trees all around the area.( See map in a travelogue that follows). A huge park where you can either sit on the grass area on the hill or reserve tickets under the roof near the stage. Concerts also given in the different churchs in the area .The 'Music Festival' starts in July and finishes in August every year.
We always sit in the grass area on our folding chairs, bring a picnic lunch, soft drinks, rain coat in case of rain, umbrella for sun or rain. You can also sit under the trees to the side in the shade. Many people sit at the very top of the hill as the sound is excellent there and the view is not blocked by other people. Bring binoculars as well. Huge Parking area with people directing traffic in and out.( fee $5.00 to park) Over 4000 people at one I went to last year. They have this every year.
