Matane has a pretty good and hugely popular semi-pro hockey team: Les Castors. Many players have played Major Junior before so they're actually able to put on a very good show. The team plays from September to March and tickets are pretty cheap, which makes for a really fun and entertaining evening at a reasonable price!

Horseriding around Matane is perhaps the best way to fully enjoy the beauty of the region's mountains, forests and St. Lawrence River. At the Centre équestre du Phare Ouest, you can choose to go on rides that last from one hour ($20) up to a few days! The guides will make sure you enjoy your ride whether you are a beginner or more experienced rider. Reservations are recommended.
