Montreal is the best town to go out at night. It is a very safe city even at night and people are sooo nice. During summer, downtown is the place to be from 5pm to 5 am! I found out that tourists like the 737, which is a club on top of a quite high building, where you can get a terrific view of Montreal at night. If you want a real meeting with the french young people of Montreal, go to the Loft. A mix of dance, techno, alternative, rock, fun, alcool and others...:) Situated corner St-Laurent and Ste-Catherine, near the Dome which is, shortly, a lower 737. Most of the restaurants are worth it, except maybe some fastfood-down St-laurent restaurants. Best places to go shopping are the Eaton Center, Galeries de La cathédrale, Place Montréal-Trust, and Place Mont-Royal, all related one to the other by the metro.
Fondest memory: I'm rarely away from Montreal because I live there. But what I miss when I'm away is the friendly atmosphere and the accessibility to every thing.
