This was my favorite Halloween Preparation, the carving of the pumpkin! It's long, it's tedious, but when it's finished everyone is so proud of their pumpkins! Plus you get to have with the interior that you took out, pumpkin cake, pumkin seeds (baked in oil and salt), pumpkin soup, pumpkin muffins, even pumpkin coming out of your ears once you're done! ;-) Oh yes! And don't forget to put a candle inside or everyone will think that you don't have any candy left! For the lighted pumpkin is the indication that there is candy to be had in the house it is at. Oh ya, something else! Don't put your pumpkin outdoors too many days in advance or the squirrels will have a real banquet out of it... X_x
You will see more and more parents that love to put their costumes as well, and join in the fun! As well, many young and not so young adults that go from one party to the next, sometimes private some other times in most of the night clubs around the city. What can I say, I guess that we're reluctant to let go of our happy days! ;-)
Every year, kids love to put on costumes. Well, it's the unwritten law, if you want to get candy!
This custom has been brought over here about a hundred years ago, when a huge wave of Irish immigrants arrived in Montreal. And you can beleive me when I say this, 'tis much gentler now, to be walking on the streets on Halloween night...
Lot's of home owners are very artistic when it comes to decorating their houses for Halloween trick o' treater. And I remember as a kid, that my favourite was always the scariest! ;-D
