    Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Hiking

Miscellaneous: The province of Quebec including Montreal is a french-canadian province, therefore french is widely spoken. In the tourist area english is well known, but a French Dictionary can be very helpful. It is always useful to be able to speak some phrases in the local language.

    Fodors Guidebook

Miscellaneous: To explore Quebecs big cities Montreal and Quebec City an up to date guidebook is very useful. I had the Fodors guide, which is updated every year. It describes the things to see and do and lists accomodations and restaurants in all price ranges. Last but not least it includes a detailed map with streetfinder.
