Warm clothes: See the weather before coming...
  • Tip Rating:
  • The weather is montreal is changing fast, today it is 15ºC tomorrow it can be 0ºC, during the summer there is not to worry about it is hot (around 20-25ºC) during winter it can go up to -20ºC

All is easy access, there is drugstores everyowhere and they sell more than medical supplies, toilet paper, napkins, soap, perfume, cosmetics, gift cards, ...

Camera films are cheaper here than in Europe...

There is a lot of campings in Quebec province, not near montreal though, but you need a car, no train or buses ...

Warm clothes: Be Prepared For Anything
  • Tip Rating:
  • The weather here in Montreal pretty much reflects the culture. Diverse and somewhat unpredictable If you're comming here in the winter, it's a good idea to bring ALOT of warm clothing, with the windchill it can get as cold as 40C on some days...it can also be warm enough to melt all the accumulated snow. it really depends on the week you show up since the winters here are rather unpredictable. It usually starts to warm up around mid April - and by warm up I mean above 10C weather, so no sandals yet. if you're comming in the summer time, the best weather happens in mid June - early July . After that, expect hot, muggy, sunfilled days - especially at the end of july and early August. make sure you pack lots of tanks and short sleaved shirts and definately make sure your hotel is air conditioned. you'll thank yourself after a long day of strolling around the city.

it's a good idea to bring an umbrella no matter what time of year you visit as the rainfall is rather unpredictable. you can always pick one up while you're here, but on a rainy day, you won't find very many under 10 bucks.

Warm clothes: Layer, Layers and More Layers
  • Tip Rating:
  • Winters in Canada can get very cold so be prepared and pack those woolies, mittens, scarves and hats. It's easy to spot a tourist because they have a tendency to come unprepared for the frigid temps. Boots are a must and make sure they are not too tight. A little breathing room in the boot helps to keep your feet warmer since the air is circulating.

    Warm clothes: Brr
  • Tip Rating:
  • I visited Montreal in the winter and it snowed every nite. Even though I consider myself an "Iceperson" who prefers being too cold to being too hot I found myself buying a hat, gloves and scarf. Fortunatly I found excellent products and good deals on them .So instead of packing all your own winter stuff, plan on shopping for them here and leave some room in your luggage.

    Warm clothes: Wide Weather Changes!
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Montreal population is flexible when it comes to weather. It can be cold, windy and raining outside and the temperatures can rise in a matter of an hr. So be prepared if you are planning a visit out here. It can be full summer one day, the next practically winter and vice versa. Have an umbrella handy and bring a mix of clothing you can play with.

    Warm clothes: Packing List
  • Tip Rating:
  • The weather is one of our favorite conversation topic. It changes everyday. Snow, rain, wind, sunshine, ... Expect everything! From december to april, it's freezing. Bring warm clothes, boots, mitains, winter coats, ... From april to june, it's usually around 15C. A warm coat is still usefull, but you can wear skirts or shorts on the good days. From june to september, it's very warm (usually) and average 20-30C. T-shirts, shorts, bathing suit. And september to december (my favorite season) you can finally wear your big wool sweaters!

    Warm clothes: Packing List
  • Tip Rating:
  • If you come in the winter, come prepared! Bring clothing that can be layered and is resistant to wetness. Boots and jackets are necessary- gloves, toques, scarves, everything. Temperatures can be -20 easily but the sun is almost always shining. If you come in the summer, come prepared! It can get extremely hot and humid so don't be bringing your parkas. 40 degrees celsius is not uncommon so bring light, cotton clothing!

    Warm clothes: Packing List

  • For any type of travel; if it's between the months of October and March, bring a hat and gloves. Especially in January. It's not always cold, but you never know when it's gonna hit.

    Warm clothes: Packing List

  • We mostly travel by car to our hotel. We like the Montreal Delta as it has parking and is easy to get to. We also use the Queen Elizabeth when traveling by rail.

If winter, pack with clothes that will keep you warm from the winds and very cold. A nice thing about the city is that much of it is underground. You can travel all about the city walking walkways between large underground shopping malls. METRO is also a clean nice way to travel.
