    My favorites on St-Denis. (Gping up from Ste Catherine) :

    1) Boutique Strategie at 3423 (all about chess);

    2) X2O at 3456 (Music, funky clothes);

    3) Cigar Club at 4115 (Cigar club with Cuban cigars!);

    4) Neon at 4251 (great choice of Doc Martens);

    5) Cote Sud at 4338 (to give a Montreal design touch to your house);

    6) Champigny/RenaudBray at 4380 (large french bookstore);

    7) Valet de Coeur at 4408 (the ultimate gaming store);

    then enjoy a "Poutine" at Rapido ! (corner of Mont-Royal)

    What to buy: In addition the stores above, there are multiple bookstores, restaurants, clothes stores and bistro to enjoy.

    Quartier Latin: chic outlet shopping

    St Denis & Rachel has a large concentration of many outlets..do not get me wrong these are not the highway shopping center style..they are nice boutiques that have a good part of their store dedicated to liquidation items..
    There is a Jacob (womens fashion)
    a BCBG (ditto) Mexx, Le Chateau, Roots, there is also a Gap but the gap is not a discount place

    Mont-Royal Avenue: Goth and Vintage Clothing

    by lxine Written Apr 22, 2003

    When I travel, I often take home unique clothing as souvenirs. That way, I'm reminded of my trip everytime I wear a particular item!

    Mont-Royal Avenue is a super place for alternative fashion buys. West of St. Denis there are several thrift, gothic and alternative shops. Or head east for used books, cd's and discount clothes.

    What to buy: Locally designed clothing and handcrafted jewellery.

    What to pay: Reasonable prices

  • Dex: Hip clothes on St. Laurent

    This place has very cool vibe, and the styles are ahead of the season. The clothes are for young adults and less for teens. Coats, sweaters, denim and casual are mixed with plenty of street and club wear. Plenty of shoes and accessories, too

    What to buy: Dex makes some nice hip outerwear

    What to pay: There is a good-sized sale rack

  • Quartier Latin: Hot to visit for semi-precious jewelery

    by Tatianana Written May 19, 2007

    Last weekend I went to shopping on St-Denis street and I went into a shop name Montana. It is a jewellery shop specialise in stones and fresh water pearl. When I entered the store, there are 2 sides of necklaces, one side is stones and the other side is fresh water pearl. And all the necklaces and bracelets are design by the owner. They are so wonderful and all jewelleries are made by nature stones like Turquoise, Tiget Eye, Coral, Agate and Hematite. It also has an elegant decoration with antiques furnitures.

    What to buy: The necklaces that I bought is made by coral and Turquoise, they have very reasonable price. Second thing you can shop with the lowest price in town are fresh water pearl necklaces and bracelets.

    This is a very unique store of the type one would only be able to find in Montréal, selling both bicycles and groceries!
