A leftover from an American exhibit at the 1967 Montreal World's fair, this has been converted into a museum of water. The Museum is small and kind of lame but the attraction here are the views from inside the sphere Leave a Comment

This deserves three tips, so, the best is to use the same text in all of them (don't look for the other): Things to do: - The buildings and surrounding gardens are very beautiful, and deserve a visit, even without entering the casino. Restaurant: - I had there the best Canadian meal. Fabulous in presentation and taste. The price… I don't know - it was included in the package. But I read a lot about free meals in the Casino, and wouldn't be surprised if the price stood far below the quality of the dinner. They have many more ways to get paid (well... not by us!). Nightlife: - I couldn't imagine myself in a Casino with two kids. How to handle it? Well… it was perfect. A small preparation about vicious and the need of self control, then a notion of budget and selection of priorities, and finally $5 for person (adults and children) as the present budget. As you may guess, it didn't take too long to get rid of it, but the fun of carefully identifying the most amusing games, the conscious management of the progressively disappearing coins, and the discipline and tranquility shown when they ended, did, really pay all the costs. In the St. Lawerance River is the Ile St. Helene which was the site of the 1967 Montreal World's fair. The parc jean Drapeau encompasses the island. One of the highlights is the tour de Levi. once a water tower, this is now a lookout point. Leave a Comment

Picture from the official site by levoyageur Parc Jean-Drapeau is a large park in two differents islands in the Saint-Laurent river between the cities of Montréal and Longueuil. The access is easy by the Jean-Drapeau metro station or by bike from Concorde Bridge. You can practice a lot of activites like bicycle, rollerblade, swim in the beach, take sun, rent a boat and discover the different channel, visit the Montreal casino, the historical Fort Stewart (1820) (http://www.stewart-museum.org/) or just relax... Ile Ste Helene by BEETLE_VERTE Ile Notre Dame & ile Ste-Helene This is my best place! At least once a week, I drive to the St-Lambert lock on the south shore and put my roller blades on. I then cross on the victoria bridge and access the Villeneuve Formula 1 circuit; except on the week of the Grand Prix (in June), we can ride the race circuit! And then others activities on the islands. You can rent rollerblades for a starter! or ride your bicycle. Bring your picnic and try the beautifull Ste-Helene island, or have a lunch at one of the snack bar. This site also accomodate the attraction park La Ronde with its rides, games, restaurants and shows. On the island, there's also a beach with naturally filtered water, green spaces, flowers and boat rental. You'll also find the Montreal Casino, Biosphere (environmental exhibition), Stewart museum (fascinating history of the New World), Governor's feast (public dinner and show with Nouvelle France theme). At the Olympic basin, you can watch canoe, kayak, scull and dragon-boat competition. On wednesday and saturday of june and july, an international fireworks competition will blow your mind for 30 minutes. Peoples in the Montreal area stops on the road or gather in parks or on the Jacques-cartier bridge just to watch. You can buy first row tickets at La Ronde and sit at the Swan lake. In august, les Fetes Gourmandes is a major attraction where culinary discoveries and unique festivities take place! Numerous kiosks offering food from around the world are places under trees and along the shore lines. It's expensive though, since every thing you taste cost between 2 and 5$. In the winter, La Fete des Neiges (snow festival) invade the island and you can ride a dogs sleigh, admire castle of snow and sculpture of ice, see wild animals, slides on the ice or ice skate. But my favorite remain to ride my rollerblades around the paths through the floralies which are numerous flowers gardens. And every so often, I'll rent a kayak and ride the little channel around the island. This is a very nice place! Leave a Comment Directions: Ile Sainte-helene metro station. Bus 167 and 169 will get you to the Casino, the beach or La ronde. Jacques-cartier bridge to reach La ronde and Sainte-Helene island (parking 8: 10$) or Concorde bridg

by Pierre_Rouss The Montreal Casino I guess I should mention the casino as a 'Must see activity'. I never been there since the building has been converted to a casino, but it was part on the Expo 67 exhibition and it is a beautiful building. The casino and its extension are of international caliber and can occupy you for a while. Leave a Comment Directions: On Notre-Dame island. You can get a shuttle close to downtown so you don't have to get there by car.

by BEETLE_VERTE I'm not a big fan, but the site is really incredible, in the middle of the jean Drapeau gardens and surrounded by St-Lawrence river, and the architecture is impressive. At night, it's magical ith all the lights. Otherwise, it's open 24/7, non-alcoholic beverages are given to the players, lounge, free parking, entrance and cloakroom, currency agency, shop. The cabaret presents great shows and the Nuance restaurant is exquisite! 18+ Leave a Comment Directions: Notre-Dame island. Ile-Ste-Helene metro station or by shuttle from the Old Port.

Beautifull, no? by Deus_ultima It's supposed to be the most lit Casino in the world (so they say..) It's a european style casino which means that there not that much return. But then again the governemnt owns the place..ever seen a governement give much money to the citizens? ;) Either than that it'a popular venue for starts such as Matt Damon, Ben Afleck etc.. People seem to like it. I've been there only once..casino's are not my thing..but it looked nice and there is a restaurant with good shows (reservation required at http://www.admission.com ) Leave a Comment
