Parc Provincial de La Vérendrye Restaurants
This restaurant is one of the two places for food, gas or fishing products in the whole park. It's a very basic yet good cafeteria (there's no rush here, plus it's so peaceful outside). I loved eating there in the middle of the night as a child. Obviously, it's exciting for a eight year old kid to be waken up at 3 am to eat some eggs, with the sun coming up in the sky later on...
It's somewhere between a clean working-place cafeteria and a lost truckstop. This place would be full of hitchhikers if places like Rouyn and Chibougamau were hip...too cold I guess.
Le Domaine is located about about 65 kilometers after the park's entrance. From Montreal, it's a 230 kilometers ride through the Laurentides (small time moutains). 120 kilometers to reach the exit of the park from le Domaine and another 53 to reach Val d'Or, Abitibi's second largest city.
Favorite Dish: I don't know. Haven't been there for years, but it stills exists. They have eggs. And much more, most typical north american meats are served. And probably the poutine also.
