During our guided tour of old Quebec city we walked the streets down by the river and eventually came to some buildings that had murals painted on the wall showing a scene from 300 years ago. From the distance (100 metres) it looked as though there were real people in the old town.
The closer we came to the building we could see that it was only a mural, but very realistic. A clever piece of art which was appreciated by all who saw it.
If you keep your eyes open, you'll see lots of quaint little details in old Quebec ~ murals adorn a number of stores and buildings.
One of the murals even has a map at street level, indicated who the figures in the painting are and what role they played in the history of the city.
