La Maison Simons is one of the most popular stores in the city and it is 100% Quebecois! The Simons family first opened a small boutique on rue Saint-Jean in 1840 and in 1870, they moved to their present location near the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. There are now three Simons store in Quebec City and four more in the Montreal and Eastern Townships areas. La Maison Simons offers unique clothing collections for men (Le 31), women (La Contemporaine), and young women (Twik), as well as lingerie (La Guepiere) and home fashion (La Lingere) collections. Simons also offers widely known trademarks such as Diesel and Roxy. And the great thing about Simons is that there are plenty of sales year round so you can get expensive looking clothes at a ridiculously good price!
What to buy: Of course I would recommend buying something from one of the store's home collections, that way you'll feel pretty unique when you go back home!
What to pay: Depends but if it's on sale, not too much
Being one of the oldest family stores in Quebec City, Simons first started in 1860 specializing in selling textile. It has evolved into a contemporary store selling the latest fashions, linens and other household products.
