Street performers & artists, Quebec
For us, one of the highlights of Quebec was… life.
The streets were full of people, with painters, musicians, and all kind of sellers, giving to town a color and a warm charm like no one else we've seen in North America.
Quebec - my favorite city in Canada
Shopping in the lowwer old town is very appealing for the ladies but I found it a little boring until I came upon these musicians playing in the small park opposite the shops. I was able to find a nice spot to rest and listen whilst the ladies continued on with their mission oblivious to the culture that surrounds.
Street Performers are found on just about every corner. We saw everything from an “animated statue” to traditional Quebequoix re-enactors to an amazing opera singer.
Other favorites were –
The portrait painters $70 Can for 70 min. sitting
The man who magically played music by touching water-filled wine glasses
The singing mannequin who would sing music as he cranked the handle on a wind up roll piano
This square is adjacent to the City Hall and is just one place where performers are found. I could not find any information on internet regarding this statue!
