Saint-Jovite Off The Beaten Path
WE came through the mountains fro Saint-Jerome by bus on the OLD PIONEERS Road. We saw how rough the mountain is with its huge rocks and dense bush and how pioneers hacked ou a place to build a house. The building of the road must have been really hard as at that time they only had horses to help.
We were glad of this reststop to use thew rest rooms and have a coffee.
Saint-Jovite Sports & Outdoors
As I was a bit tired of just hanging around the chalet with my mom, I decided to bike on the bike path created from the old train tracks, from the town St-Jovite to Mont-Tremblant http://www.tremblant.ca . Not bad as a workout, not tiring at all, and very enjoyable as the scenery is very charming. Many cute barns to see and lots of beautiful nature. Where it became to be more difficult is when I decided to leave my bike to go up the mountain in the cable car (good idea) and walk back down (bad idea). With a base elevation of 265 meters (870 feet) and a summit elevation of 915 meters (3,001 feet), going 649 meters down (2,131 feet) is not as easy as it would seem. Well, to me, since I'm always full of such grand ideas. lol ^^' My calves were killing me but I managed to come down right before nightfall...And my mom was a bit nervous, as always.Related to:
