    Hiking Stoneham

    by Canuck5 Updated Jan 5, 2009

If you're at or near the Stoneham Ski Resort during the spring, summer, or fall, you might want to consider taking a hike up the mountain. At the information desk, you can pick up a map detailing several hiking trails.

The trail I took led me to the two highest peaks - at 630 m. and 590 m. - and took about three hours to complete, but this includes time I took to snap pics, pauses to enjoy the view, and chat with another couple who were also doing the trail.

I chose to take the trail in a counter-clockwise route, and though the trail is well marked once you're on it, the trail head at the north end was not as well marked, and took me a while to find. Aside from this, the trail was a good shape, and I would describe it as medium difficulty to hike.
