See the little chapel on the right side of the photo. That is the oldest wooden church in Canada. Built 1747 by the Jesuits.
The primary reason for a settlement at Tadoussac appears to have been purely commercial. However, because of trade and the contact with the First Nations peoples, Tadoussac also became the center of missionary activities to the natives of Saguenay and Lac Saint Jean.

The eye-catching chapel is the oldest wooden church in North America. It was built in 1747. It is a small museum now, with exhibits showing the artifacts from that era. There is an admission charge to enter the small chapal.

Tadoussac is in the association of the most beautiful villages in Quebec. One of the criteria is the maintenance of the buildings in town and the heritage and quality of these structures. All the houses are well-maintained with a manicured front lawn. Each one is unique with its own character.

This activity is totally incredible, you have to do it once in your life: it's whale watching. There is two possibilities to see them: on a cruise ship or on a zodiac. If you're looking for a memorable experience, choose the zodiac. I've done it twice and each time it was totally amazing.

Take a walk on tadoussac bay, from the village, passing by the tadoussac hotel until the marina where you can go to the top of the mount and see nice view of the area.
Also enjoy to see the sunset if you have a chance. it's very nice :)

A nice route to return from the Charlevoix Region to Quebec City is to take the route towards L'Anse St Jean, and when you arrive at La Baie, take the highway down towards the city. It takes longer but it's worth it. Just follow the Ha Ha river.

I have attatched a map of the area.
Tadoussac has always been a meeting place. The Indians even before the Europeans came use to meet here to exchange products and furs.
For 25 years now whale watchers have come here to take a cruise and see the whales.
There are over 500 rooms for rent in the Hotels, Motels etc. in the town.
15 restaurants to serve you.

Take a bout tour of the Saguenay Fjord in search of the whales. I only saw belugas, probably because of the bad weather. But it was a thrill.
