Cranberry Rose –: tearoom, shop and gallery

by vtveen

During our visits to Saskatchewan (staying in Regina) we always take a visit to Cranberry Rose in Moose Jaw. A most charming tearoom located in a historic Victorian home, known as the Slade House, already built in 1918.It has the special English (a little bit aristocratic) atmosphere and it is a pleasure having a tea, coffee, sandwich, dainties, a cup of home made soup or a dessert. Especially tea lovers can choose from a range of different teas. To be honest one can taste that coffee isn’t their speciality.Be aware: inside Cranberry Rose just has four tables. And before or after our stay in the tearoom we always look around in the quaint shop with excellent and sometimes unique gifts. Opening hours:Monday to Saturday: 10 am to 5.30 pmSunday: 12 noon to 4.30 pm

Saskatchewan teahouses

by Redlats

Saskatchewan has a lot of teahouses (as my wife can attest to). This one is at Indianhead on the Trans Canada highway. Many of them (including this one) have a section where local crafts are sold. My wife and her sisters have made the rounds of teahouses, both in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. I don't mind the home cooking -- but I hate buying anything that collects dust, and most crafts do just that.

Nylene's Cafe: Or not...?

by lauriejeanne

I ordered a buffalo burger to try something different and then decided to use the facilities before heading out on the road again. All I can say is, perhaps in Saskatchewan one should check out the "facilities" before ordering a meal. To my horror, every cubicle had a sign which read: "Please flush the toilit" (yes, that is how they spelled it). Oh well, live and learn!

Ricky's All Day Grill: Family-Style Restaurant

by Astrobuck

This was a very good place to eat. Chicken, steaks, salads, the usual. Even though it is a family style restaurant, there weren't any kids there from what I recall. There is also a bar.
