Joe Fortes Seafood & Chophouse: Awesome seafood and other stuff

by bkathryn

I've been here with the last two delegations that have taken me to Vancouver. It's apparently rather expensive, but it's also very good. I was there in August 2001 and again in July 2002. It's also the first restaurant I can recall going to that has a mission statement! In August 2001, I had sockeye salmon which was wonderful. In July 2002, they had run out of sockeye on the evening I was there, so I had snapper - it was also wonderful.

The place I would go to the most if I was richer...The Keg. They make a kick ass steak and I LOVE their baked garlic shrimp...mmmmm For a budget meal, I eat Wendy's, you really can not go wrong. (although I do question the chicken chunks)My favorite restaurant in Alberta is a place called Las Palmeras. It has a great atmosphere, it is quiet and small and never packed. I am not big on crowds while trying to visit and eat. Anything that is Mexican but with out the refried beans...I do like their food.

by AlohaDean

Cafe Chianti, excellent service, and there is a famous Italian guy Plinio who can chose the best wine and make good espresso for you. As well I recommended restaurant Ryan Duffy as a best steak house in town. Lamb and Veal in Chianti and Cesar salad with any steak in Ryan Duffy.

by Fumbler8

Niagara Falls 'The Flying Saucer' is a great late-night UFO (seriously, it is shaped like a saucer inside and out) where you can get anything and everything. Huge portions, decent prices, massive drinks. Tim Horton's, a Canadian landmark. You will not have to drive more than 5 minutes to find one in any Canadian city.Saucer.....IT IS SHAPED LIKE A UFO!!!!Timmy's....only eating establishment that has ridiculously long lines between 6 and 10 am!! Saucer....Pasta, Saucer FriesTim Horton's (aka Timmy's, Horny Tim's)...chocolate chip muffin, heated and buttered, medium peach juice with alot of ice (it's just so sweet)
