All visitors may claim a refund of the goods and services tax (GST) and/or, the harmonized sales tax (HST) which they paid on eligible goods, must provide proof that they exported their goods from Canada. This is referred to as Proof of Export.Proof of Export began at Canada's nine major international airports. Non-resident visitors departing from one of these airports, must have their goods available for inspection and their original receipts validated by a Canada Customs official as they leave Canada.

Roger`s Chocolates: Chocolate Treats !

by MichaelFalk1969

When we bought a ticket for the Vancouver trolley, we got a coupon book for free gifts and tariff reductions, among them a voucher for a gift from Roger`s Chocolates. Roger`s is a Canadian institution for fine chocolates and pralinés since the late 19th century. We instantly went to the chocolate store, ate our free pralinè and went out of the chop with 20 $ worth of chocolate. The coupon obviously was not a great bargain for us, but their fine chocolates and truffels really taste excellent. Worth a visit !!! They have stores in Vancouver (in Gastown), Victoria, Banff and several other Canadian cities.

West Edmonton Mall: Canada's Largest Shopping Mall!

by jamiesno

It's the world's largest entertainment and shopping centre and Alberta's number one tourist attraction, featuring over 800 stores and services, over 110 eating establishments, plus seven world class attractions. It's the only mall of its kind - both a shopper's dream and a world of excitement and adventure. This amazing structure - often called the "8th Wonder of the World" - spans the equivalent of 48 city blocks in the prestigious west end of the City of Edmonton (metro population over 995,000), in the Province of Alberta. I've been there a couple of time now and enjoyed the dophin show, bungy jumping and the fantasy land hotel. My VT Edmonton Page!Remember if you like my tips please rate them and leave your comments. I love reading them all!!

ecologics/ earthenwear: Hemp it up baby!

by Fudge

This shop had clothing made from hemp, energy bars made from hemp, lil furniture made from hemp byproducts. We were more than impressed! What made it even more special was the fact that after a late dinner we had stumbled across an indian food place and as we walked out, we saw this shop, with the sign "closed".Zal had to stick her nose right against the window for a good 10 minutes scouring the entire space. The guy inside did a hand gesture signifying "we are closed".And zal pleads with hand gestures,"5 minutes, pls.Can u open for just 5 minutes".I'm like, ok we can do this in Asia, but Canadians, i dont think they're gonna open their shop for u at 11pm! But guess what, the fellas did. And boy did we buy a few things. We loved the place.Cld never find anything like this in Singapore! The decor too had this au naturel feel about it. reminded me a little about Fremantle (in Western...

Canada One Factory Outlets: Bargains

by SoccerGirl09

The reason that this is an excellent place to shop is because there are a whole bunch of brand name stores everything they sell is priced directly from the factory. Nike, Levi's, Reebok, Roots, Danier.... and a lot more!!! It is actually much cheaper to shop at canada One because you get things at factory price, so they are much cheaper than if you buy them at a regular store!
