The "Maid of the Mist"

by traveldave

Visitors to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls can take a ride on the Maid of the Mist. The boat makes frequent departures from the jetty at the bottom of Clifton Hill to struggle against the current to reach the foot of the Horseshoe Falls. Raincoats are supplied, as passengers can expect to get wet in the mists from the falls.

The Rainbow Bridge

by traveldave

The Rainbow Bridge spans the Niagara River and connects Canada (left) and the United States (right). Visitors to Niagara Falls are allowed to cross the bridge by foot, to get a unique perspective of the falls to the south.

Rogues White Water Rafting...

by AnnemieB

Rogues White Water Rafting with Herbie: I love to go rafting, but here the boat is huge, it has a motor on it and the water was freezing (this was in August). It's just lots more fun when you get to do your own paddling! I prefer the Snake River in Wyoming, USA and there's some good rafting near Cairns, Australia too and near Queenstown in New Zealand.

Why does everybody think...

by chris_i79

Why does everybody think Niagara exsits only in the U.S.?Niagara Falls is magnificent and you should definitely try to see it. However the city itself is covered in tacky tourist gimmicks. The one activity that you should do while in Niagara is the Maid of the Miist boat tour (when in season)

by zitronella

in my point of view Niagara is not that impressing as it seems on tv, video, photo or whatever - moreover all these awful commercial sites round the falls somehow spoil the feeling of being in Canada and not in the U.S. - but o.k., one has to go there once in a life time ... just to tell others who have never been there...

by gorky9hr

hmmmm... a guy on one street in Toronto tried to sell me twisted fork that looked like a bracelet for 10 $....it was a cool bracelet, but you know, after all- just a fork, people! just an ordinary fork!still...if you like the idea so much, he's probably still there...just go on the other side of Eaton's centre, can't miss it! :)

I'm writing in this section...

by disneegrl4ev

I'm writing in this section because alot of people say going to Gas town is a tourist trap. I however, do not agree. My daughter is a big fan of Canada and we were able to get all kinds of touristy Canadian memorabilia from just one store. Including clothes, stickers, keychains, flags, everything. Otherwise I would have to go to several places in Vancouver to get what we found in just one store. Also, I love the clock lol

by Waoife

Calgary TowerLocated in a pretty dingy part of downtown the tower isn't that tall & is pretty expensive for the trip.True the view with the Rockies & the olympic ski jumps on the horizons is quite good but you'll get a better view if you actually go to the top of the ski jumps out in the Olympic Park & it's better value for money too.......

by Waoife

Ever wondered what it is that people see in a certain “must see” sight??? So it was for my with Niagara Falls - by far the biggest disappointment of my trip to Canada (in fact to be fair my only disappointment to be honest so I suppose I can’t complain that much). They say this is the honeymoon capital of the world but if you ask me it’s definite grounds for a divorce!!!True a freezing cod day at the end of November is probably not the best time to see the falls (even wearing several layers a wooly hat, scarf, gloves, thick socks etc etc it was still perishing) but still I don’t think it was worth the 1 hour bus trip from Toronto. The falls themselves are pretty big but the town itself has to be one of the tackiest run down places I have ever seen & once you’ve spent a few minutes looking at the falls (which are nothing compared with the beauty of the Rockies), waved at the American’s on...

a quick note for any tourists...

by Wojtek_R

a quick note for any tourists planning to visit Paramount Canadas Wonderland located just outside Toronto, the $50 admission ticket is a tourist-oriented scam, you can just get the $30 general admission to grounds pass that comes with 12 ride coupons, the thing is NOONE collects the coupons or checks your hand stamp, so you end up with the same privilidges as if you paid the 'Regular' ticket price of $50 if you just get grounds admission. Also food is quite crappy in there and pricey ($15 for burger and beer), bring a cooler!
