A favourite means of transportation in the winter in Canada seems to be the snowmobile. But you have to watch out for them though! They have their own trails going through the countryside. But they also share the same road as you do, using the shoulder of the road. So be aware of them! They can go quite fast, and join the roads suddenly as part of their trail.This photo was taken close to Stayner in Ontario, where I use to live.
"The Canadian" is VIA Rail's train service from Toronto to Vancouver. It is 2,775 miles (4,466km) and takes three days and three nights.The scenery is fantastic, and the journey thoroughly relaxing, particularly if you go out of season (as we did).
There's a relatively new airline in Canada called JetsGo. They're definitely a discount airline but they have super-friendly staff and excellent service.Besides flying between various Canadian cities they also have flights to/from select U.S. and Mexican cities.A great airline that I highly recommend!

Okay, prices are average for a metro, much as in london paris etc.Smells better than london and paris, its clean! and safe, no loud gangs of drunken yobs like paris or london, just my experience.prices are $2.25 single£18 tokens last you maybe a week.
If you are in Vancouver and touring the area around False Creek and Granville Island, then you might consider it a joy to take one of the False Creek ferries. These little ferries run up and down False Creek connecting the North Shore of Vancouver with Granville Island. It is a fun way to see this section of the city and the kids will have a ball.
Float planes are fun! We took one from the Vancouver South Terminal float plane docks (I hadn't known these existed!) to Sechelt this summer. It was great! The picture is of a couple in Prince Rupert that we took from the Work Channel down to the city.
When on a forestry site-seeing tour with a delegation of Germans (and an Austrian) in September 1999, we were toured along the Work Channel in northern BC in this former fishing boat converted to a crew carrier.
While travelling with a delegation of German-speaking people in September 1999, we looked at forestry practices near Maniwaki Quebec. While in the neighbourhood, we had a little trip in a voyageur-type canoe on the Gatineau River. Just like some of our forbears!
