I enjoyed walking around the harbour area. I watched a Royal Arctic freighter being loaded. You can also take a tour of the shrimp factory.

The Arctic Circle Race is a 160km, 3 day cross-country ski race that starts in Sisimiut. This year (2005) around 95 competitors participated in the race. The racers come from many countries and the abilities range from those just trying to finish (such as myself) to olympians and world cup athletes.

The race course varies each year, but goes through an amazing arctic landscape of mountains, glaciers and fjords.
