Kangerlussuaq is just a small village with approx. 500 people with another of the big enough airports to serve A330 for example. But don't just stop and keep going to another town with DASH-7. Do a trip to the Icecap! I did 'Point 660' tour with excellent commentary and the views were amazing. Highly recommended!

Ice cap tour,
The excursion is undertaken in a car, which covers the 25 km to the edge of the The Russel's Gletcher. During the journey there are plenty of opportunities of seeing reindeer, arctic foxes and birds. Part of the trip is off-road and the drive normally takes about 1 hour each way.
