Most tour companys can help you out with this. Of course you will fly in. The friendly VT page will give you the information you will need to arrange your accomodations.
You have a choice of regular vehicles. But, of course there are always the dog sleds.

There are virtually no roads in Greenland (just too many snow, ice and fjords to cross). The only way to go from place to place is with boats (small ferrys or fishermen's boats), airplanes or helicopters.

Geting to Greenland u can from Copenhagen by a direct flight to Kangerlesuaq on the west side. There are few flights every week by SAS or by Air Greenland.
At summer there is a daily fligt (beside Sunday) from Reikjavik (Iceland) to Kulusuk on the east coast.
In winter dosg sledging is the only way to get around (if u dont use helicopters). The Greenlandic dogs are raised and trained to carry the Inuit sledges and they start doing it since age of six months and finish their life in age of five. They are not pats animals like we in western society see dogs. You have to get it into mind before joining hunters expedition on the frozen sea.

By airplane from Iceland with Icelandair and from Denmark with SAS or Greenlandair (Gronlandsfly).
By plane or boat. Buses, cars and taxis are available in towns. To go some places dogsled is necessary and can be hired.

    Diskoline -Boats on the coastline

by TheView Written Oct 3, 2014

A transport form that is an adventure on its own is the boat trips you can make around the coastline in western Greenland. And do take the slow boat if you have time it is cheeper and you get more time to enjoy the splendid nature.

It is a good idea to book your tour some time in advance as it can be full on some dates.

Notice if you are planing a trip that there is a long winter hold for the ships do to the ice …even if the climate change have made an impact.

Sea sick and sick-bags. Real bad weather!

    Taxies

by TheView Updated Nov 21, 2014

Poplic transport is very limited in Greenland (There is really only the busses in Nuuk) so if you need transport you need a pickup or a cab. They all run on meters like in Denmark but all do not take credit cards so it is good to have some cash at hand, that is Danish kroner. As English is not a generally spoken language among cabdrivers it is a good idea to have the address you like to goto written down.

Aske for the local number in the airport or harbor. Here is some I use from time to time.

area code for Greenland is 00299

    Nuuk 363636

    Ilulissat number 944944

    Aasiaat 893939

Narssarssuaq has international connections to Copenhagen and Baltimore. To go around from Narssarssuaq you can go by boat or by helicopter.

Food was very nice on our flight from Denmark to Greenland.

I would call it, always the way to travel, like a VIP.
