This is one of the best flights I've ever had - taking the Fokker 50 plane from the domestic airport (REF) of Reykjavik and going on a two hour flight to Kulusuk. This is an amazing tour being offered to tourists through Air Iceland, and for the whole day adventure, I paid only about $450-70? I think (definitely less than $500). It was money well-spent since I enjoyed this trip a lot.
Going to REF (domestic airport) is easy and you could either just walk from your hotel if you have time since the flight to Kulusuk usually leaves at about 9-10 AM, or just take a cab which costs about US$15.
The Fokker 50 plane has wheels at the sides and for some reason I was always at seat number 6 or 7 and I can always see the wheels dropping down into position. I took a video of this and I think I have it on VT now.
But it's not only tourists who fly on this plane...I also saw some Inuits making use of this service.
UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!
I made a video of my Kulusuk trip!
Hope you like it!
JUMPING NORMAN IN GREENLAND!
You can purchase tickets for a boat trip in Kap Dan's souvenir shop. It's a good way to get back to the airport, passing icebergs on the way. It was extremely cold though!!
