Distrito Federal Transportation

  • Metro

    Mexico City Transportation

The best way to move around Mexico City is the METRO. It's fast, it's cheap (each ticket is only MXN $5 = 40 cents of USD and is good for 1 trip including multiple transfers as long as you don't exit the system - new fee valid since 2014), and it takes you almost everywhere (there are 12 lines, the newest one was opened in 2012). Mexico City Transportation

Before I even landed in Mexico City, I had booked my transportation from airport to Hostel from a company in Mexico. Even though i had read reviews on the buses and train methods of getting around, I must say that I am a little fraidy cat when it comes to taken buses or trains in a place I don't know. That is not to say that I have not. I have...

    Mexico City Transportation

The city government had this brilliant idea of building this weird thing called Metrobus..... it's a long bus in fact, and it originally covered a fixed straight route along our longest avenue, Insurgentes, which goes across the entire city from the very north to the very south tip. • Green taxis

    Mexico City Transportation

Avoid taking taxis from the street. Better call the "Sitio" ones which are safer or take them from you hotel. If you are in the south part of the city, I recommend you to call the Taxis' Sitio of Perisur. It is more expensive but for toursts is an excellent option!

So if you arrive by plane, you'll arrive into the Benito Juarez International Airport, which isn't big enough for our needs anymore but it's the only one we have, LOL....

  • On Foot

    Mexico City Transportation

It was great to discover Mexico City on foot, as that way you can feel, smell and taste the real atmosphere of this big city. However that the exhaust fumes of the many cars and taxis aren't the best smells I've ever encountered on my travel journeys. But by walking, you can see a bit of the daily life along the streets. And no problem if your...
