When you visit Queretaro, walk around downtown, visit the small museums and make sure to go into the little stores, you might love some of the souverniers.
Make sure to go to Bernal and go hiking, there is a boulder local people call Peña de Bernal.

  • Hhhhmm....fancy restaurants...

Hhhhmm....fancy restaurants are everywhere, so perhaps you would like to have some typical food of Queretaro. Then, you have to go the markets, 'Escobedo' and 'La Cruz', and some old restaurants that you can find in downtown. These restaurants have all the flavors from Queretaro, you will find the food can be a little spicy, so be prepared for...

Please, don't go to a fancy restaurant, if you want to taste the Mexican flavour, try going to the 'mercado', or eating at small restaurants, called 'fonda' or 'comida corrida', they usually have the very mexican stuff!! these are some of the most Queretaro's traditional foods: gorditas de migajas (looks like a tortilla, but filled with diferent...

Querétaro Transportation

  • Getting There: From Mexico...

Getting There: From Mexico City, you can ask for a non-stop bus from the airport all the way to Queretaro!! They start the service around 08:30 in the morning, and then every hour until 09:00pm or even later, I'm not shure.. Getting Around: In Queretaro all the transport service is very cheap, the best thing to do, is to take a taxi, but make shure...

Go hiking and go to the traditional markets. In Queretaro you can find shopping malls, but if you really want to experience a different country, visit the traditional markets and smal towns.

If you're in Queretaro, you can visit many little and beautiful towns, like 'Bernal' wich has the third biggest monolite on earth!! and you can climb it almost without a rope!! or you can visit Tequisquiapan, or try San Miguel de Allende!! and if you're there by september, you'll be in the middle of the 'San Miguel de Allende Festival'. The coolest thing on that festival is when they throw like 15 bulls on the street, and you can be a 'torero' once in your life!!

Querétaro Favorites

Favorite thing: Take the tours on downtown to visit all the historical places on Queretaro. They are cheap, they have an english/spanish guide, and there are 3 choices so you can take 3 different tours while you stay here, so you do not miss anything.

Fondest memory: When I am not in Queretaro, I really miss the walks on downtown at night . . .all the lights, all the colors, the flavors, the people. . .once you are there, you will surely want to live there. Ask all the people from other states in Mexico that moved to Queretaro. ;)
