I liked the tower of this buiding on my picture with funny (stained glass?) top.
There is the Tijuana Wax Museum (Museo de Cera de Tijuana) located there.

Papas&Beer is one of the most famous clubs in Mexico. Located in the city of Rosarito which is about a 30-45 minute drive south of Tijuana. It's long been a weekend destination for the 20-something-crowd from southern California looking for something different than the club scene in Los Angeles and San Diego.
The club is immense! It sports a volleyball court in the middle which turns into a huge dance floor in the evening. Papas&Beer is an open-air club so even if it gets crowded there's no worry of the place getting too hot.
If you go on a busy weekend, pay your entrance fee in the afternoon and just get your hand stamped. This way you're allowed to enter and exit the club as you please without having to wait in line again. The line to get in in the evening can have you waiting for hours so this is the smart thing to do.
You'll have a blast at Papas&Beer! Just look at the smile on my face in the picture.

Somewhere on the way back to the USA I found this gate as on picture with the following sentence written:
Come back soon amigos. Thank you for visiting us.
As I know "amigo" means a friend in Spanish so amigos = friends. Right?
So, COME BACK SOON AMIGO! THANK YOU FOR VISITING MY TIJUANA PAGE! :-))).

I met those three Mexican musicians somewhere in the downtown. Hmm... they didn't want to play but they agreed, even wanted to pose - not so easy at narrow walkway of busy street. Probably they didn't know that I would publicize their images in VT. Am I wrong?

On the way to the downtown and back to the USA I walked through this clean and good looking square called Plaza Viva Tijuana.
The square is the little shopping center. There are numerous stores, restaurants, pubs, drugstores there. Add fountain and benches to take a rest.
The "Linea" bus terminal - for busses to Ensenada -- is just up to the left and around the corner to the right.

The business areas of Tijuana looks quite different than that ones in the USA.
They are smaller, often not so clean with chaotic architecture, parking lots, traffic and surely with a lot of commercials (too many hehe).

Look at my picture - there is the tower located almost at the end of the walkway from the border to the downtown, close to the main street Avenida Revolucion. I called the tower "The crossing point" as it's written on its wall.
What is inside? Restrooms (= toilets, WC not rooms for rest :-), free tourist maps and restaurants.

There is almost never a long wait if you cross the border on foot but if you are driving cross you could face long queues. Be prepared to be harassed by hawkers at the border queues in their last attempt to sell you something..

Not that off the beaten path (I was on foot with my elderly parents), but make sure you check out the narrow little alleyways off Avenida Revolucion. There are actually some pretty cool old building in disrepair with some good photo ops.

Maybe it's not too visited by tourists, but it's is the best place in Tijuana for cultural events, here you can find the Museum of the Californias, an IMAX Theater, the theater, a shop, and more attractions. You can find more information on its internet address:
