We discovered Lenny's almost by accident, dejected that Amarone didn't do breakfast and specific to those we asked that "different" was what we were looking for. We were directed to Lenny's, an underwhelming façade on the outskirts of town that would not have enticed us in were it not for the recommendations of several men of girth.
Once you step into Lenny's, your preconceptions melt away. Run by the same folks that operate The Original Trailer Park (El Faro Viejo), Lenny's offers you an amazing selection of breakfasts and lunches at extremely affordable prices. There are two dining rooms at Lenny's: a front, smaller room for the locals and regulars and a much larger, more homestyle room in the back. If you're in the mood for a chorizo and egg burrito, you'll have to ask for it, as that's about the most basic thing they can make. Lenny's has traditional American breakfasts that include pancakes as well as original concoctions featuring salmon, crab and Pacific lobster. Even their house salsas are flavorful and anything but mediocre.
In addition to a comprehensive menu, Lenny's offers a full delicatessen with cheeses, fresh-baked bread and an assortment of wines, hot sauces and other take-out items. Ean, the proprietor, is a "gringo," as are most of his regular patrons. As breakfasts go, it's very clear to me there's none finer than Lenny's, and I would recommend them to anyone who believes the first meal is the day's most important.
Lenny's only serves breakfast and lunch from 7 AM to 4 PM, and two can get out of there in the morning for about $25, full and looking forward to siesta.
This is a traditional breakfast place and deli with a very laid back and friendly atmosphere. They have the usual breakfasts, like eggs and pancakes, and deli sandwiches for lunch. Good selection of drinks, juices, & smoothies. It is open from 7AM - 4PM and closed on Mondays.
Favorite Dish:
Since it is in Mexico after all, my favorite breakfast are the huevos rancheros. I have only gone to Lenny's for breakfast, so I can't comment on the sandwiches personally, but I have never heard anything negative.
