  • Water Taxi Tour of The Arch (El Arco)

El Arco from the Pacific Ocean

This rock formation is the famous symbol of Cabo San Lucas. The best way to get to it would be to take a water taxi tour. Mine cost US$12/person but I probably could have gotten it cheaper. You can catch a taxi on the beach or marina, or ask a tour person working at your hotel or on the street.

If you look closely, it looks like a dinosaur drinking water.

The tour should take you underneath the arch and into the Pacific Ocean, and show you many other interesting rock formations and seals. You also have a chance to stop at Lover's Beach, which is only accessible by boat. It is worth it, and only takes about 30 minutes, unless you spend time on Lover's Beach. Try to get the tour cheaper than I did and let me know.

    Is it really land's end?

Land’s end: so it’s called the place where the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez meets. As you can imagine waves are huge and there is a special rock forming a spectacular arch that is really worth seeing. Near the arch there is a beautiful beach of golden sand, called Lover’s beach, reachable just by boat. From the harbour a lot of boats can bring you there; we took a submarine with glass windows in order to see fishes under water. And we really saw a bunch of colourful fishes.

THE ARCH AT THE END OF THE BAJA

Take a boat ride out in the bay, that goes by the famous Arch at the tip of Baja California. A beautiful scene with the ocean vista. To go to Cabo and not see the arch would be like having cookies without milk.

    Land's End...

Those rock formations, as well as the Arch, are also better known as Land's End. This is the place were the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean.
Some people say that this is unique, although, in Cancun, the Gulf of Mexico meets the Caribbean Sea...

    El Arco...

Take a water taxi to the Arch to have the best view. I guess that everyone who visits Cabo San Lucas will like to see the famous Arch as soon as possible. It is the symbol of Cabo, although I saw much nicer rock combinations on my past travels, but, Cabo's Arch is a must see attraction for every visitor...

    Seal rock...

On the left (in the Sea of Cortez) you find the seal rock. It seems this animals sleeping the whole day long. Every time I past there (by boat or wave runner) those animals were still laying the same as I saw before. Lazy animals :o)

    El Arco

Located at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula, is the natural stone arch. Numerous water taxi's or glass bottom boats are available for hire around the beach and wharf area. This will give you a close up view of the arch, the sea lions lounging on the surrounding rocks, or deliver you to Lovers Beach for some sun and fun.

You must get to see a close-up...

You must get to see a close-up of 'The Arch'. It has been formed by the tremendous waves which crash upon the southern tip of Baja California. It is the only place in the world where one beach is situated on two different bodies of water. It's pretty cool to see the dark blue of the Pacific Ocean right across from the emerald green of The Sea of Cortez. Lover's Beach is also near-by (which contrary to beliefs..... is not longer a nude beach.... maybe it used to be, but not anymore)

This natural arch is Cabo's most famous landmark. It's only accesible by boat so you can either take a sightseeing or whale watching tour or rent a kayak and paddle out here. Right by the arch is a colony of sea lions.

    the Arch

This was a very fun adventure and actually very funny because of what my dad did. Take a ride on a glass bottom boat and go all the way to Lover's beach and take a look at the Arch and waht not. Be sure not to get sea sick like my dad did and ended up leaning over the boat to let his breakfast go! Mean but funny, I was laughing soooo hard.
