The Presidente Intercontinental Los Cabos or Holiday Inn Los Cabos is a beautiful resort with great food but DO NOT BUY THE VACATION CLUB MEMBERSHIP! The will tell you you can resale your points - Not true! The only way to get rid of it is to rent out your weeks or donate the points to charity. Using the points has been a terrible hassle for us. If for some reason you want to join or have already joined and would like more points, BUY OUR POINTS AT A DEEP DISCOUNT We have found many times it is cheaper to book through Apple Vacations than use our points and it certainly is a lot less of a hassle.
Unique Suggestions: JUST SAY NO!
Fun Alternatives: If you think you can't live without this vacation club membership, just save yourself $ and buy our points at a deep discount.

You will arrive at Los Cabos Airport and as soon as you clear customs and get your bags you will go through a pair of glass doors into the land of time share presentation hell! There will be about a dozen guys pretending to be from different resorts wanting to arrange transportation to yopur destination. They will have ID tags from the various resorts to fool you. They will guide you to another guy at a counter who is very friendly and will proceed to charm you into visiting a time share presentation. That is when you need to take charge, and don't feel guilty, these guys are getting paid for every warm body they deliver!
Unique Suggestions: Forget the discounts on activities, demand cash (we got $200 cash, U.S.!). Get your activities for free! You are a hot commodity and can get what you want. Ask for more event tickets than you need so you can bring friends along. My advise is to think about what activities you want to do before you get off of the plane and when the presentation guys hi-jack you in the airport (and they will) have a list of things you want them to give you in exchange for your valuable vacation time. We had friends who went to these every morning and saved or made lots of money!!!

The minute you get off the plane you go through security and then in a small room where there a bunch a desks a guys telling that they are you ride or that they are with your hotel at this point STOP and remember this, they are all lying to you they are not with your hotel and they are not your transportation! they will have shirts on that say the name of your hotel or they are holdong a sign that has the transportation company you are using name on it, trust me get out of that room and completely ignore them, they are not your friends. . ..
Unique Suggestions: Now to the timeshare part. This month December 2007 and last month and in January if you are going to Cabo find anyone representing the pueblo bonito or peublo rose or derado resorts times share tours and take the tour but first tell them to write it down with there name on the tour paperwork they are giving you with the time of your tour on it and what they have promised you to take the 90 minute tour. Each of these tours will give a leagelly married couple (with proof of it , same address and last name on your ID's) $300.00 cash US dollars not a voucher just good ole american cash straight up, so go to these 3 and make an extra $900.00 on your trip . Heres the important thing to remember they are going to be half way rude when you tell them you are not ust be interested and they will be pushy but 900.00 is worth it to me. I am going again for Xmas and new yrs week to the timeshare I bought last yr at one of these tours, they do make you some great offers, I ended up with 100yrs in a brand new 1 bd 1 bth suite gor 15,000.00 at the cabo villas beach resort. dont worry about finding theses guys to get the money and if for some reason unknown to me they dont find you go downtown and walk near the marina by the tesoro marina resort and you will find them , tell them you want to buy a timeshare at the pueblo bonita or sunset beach or rose resorts and you want your cash for doing it. The derado resorts office is above the beach at the office on the beach beach bar in a samll office actaually on top of the office on the beachs front door from the street just ask and you will find it. If you are single the only one I know that will pay you is the derado tourand they will give singles 100.00 US to take the tour.
Fun Alternatives: go to these and make some money, I always book an extra 5 days to listen to timeshares and make a grand or more and then pay for the next week with that.

We rented a car at the airport and were shocked to find out that they even try to get you to buy a time share at the car rental place! It's everywhere and it's hardcore and annoying. I had to lock myself in the rental car and even then the lady was knocking on the window asking me to roll it down. I did so about an inch and she continued her spiel. Sheesh, I'm on my honeymoon!
Unique Suggestions: I just basically said to the folks...."look, you have a hard job. I wouldn't have it for the world because it is very hard. But I'm not buying..no way, no how, nada, never."

Right as you step out of the gates at the airport and get your luggage and what not, you are approched by MANY people trying to give you great deals and then the next morning you get a free breakfast and a presentation and tour of the a resort. It's only supposed to take and hour or so and in that time they try to get you to buy a timeshare. They got to us and we bought one and instead of being there for one hour, we were there for at least 4! But we are happy with it and whenever someone buys a timeshare, as the cork of the champagne pops off, everyone claps and you get to drink some orange juice and champagne. it's very good...lol

Timeshare predators show up from the moment you are arriving in the airport, and pursue you your whole vacation. It is not nice that on every corner they ask you for a Timeshare presentation, although, going to a presentation can give you a lot of discounts on activities up to 50%. If you do not want to go to a Timeshare presentation just tell them you have one already. Just saying no doesn't help at all, as they will try to convince you...
Unique Suggestions: If you go to a Timeshare presentation, be sure that you write down everything for a discount on your activity list. You can get even a discount for US$ 50, using in a shop of your choice. See also in my shopping tips.
What to expect when you go? First of all you get breakfast (with champagne) with one of their predators. Then the sales tactics come above and they will try convincing you with all tricks they have. In the mean time you can drink champagne, a beer or soft drink as well. It is all up to you if you are buying a Timeshare or not. Think about that you have to decide there. You don?t have a chance to think it over at home. If you don't want to buy, give up this reason and you can leave. Do not forget to pick up your discount papers and let them call you a taxi for free.
This all cost you about 3 hours of your time, but you will have discounts on all your activities planned on your vacation...

BEWARE of the Timeshare folks at the airport. They will tell you that you cannot get a ride into town without first talking to them. They will offer you all sorts of goodies to sit through a presentation. Well, we did and got a rental car for three days, plus other goodies like free transportation back to the airport and breakfast. It's up to you. Presentations take about an hour or so. We bought a timeshare at our presentation because of the options we had to use it. Timeshare people will approach you everywhere you go. Just tell them you are leaving 'tommorow', or you 'already have a place'. It's their business and they are out to make money, so I don't hold it against them, but I don't like their pressure tactics at the airport. We rent a car at the airport so we won't have to deal with transportation at all.

BEWARE of time share vultures lurking in every corner. If you know how to play your cards right and are strong enough to say NO then you can certainly procure some free meals and activities.
