    Cabo San Lucas Favorites

La Playa de los Enamorados is a must if you visit Cabo. You have to take a short 20-minute boat ride to reach this small island. It's location is unusual. On the west side huge Pacific Ocean waves break, while on the East side you have perfectly small waves that come in from the Gulf of California. Be sure to take sunblock, something to read or...

  • Emergency Information

    Loreto Favorites

Where ever you travel there is always the danger that a hospital might be required. Located right at the entrance to Loreto and just off of Highway 1 is a small facility that serves the greater Loreto community. Staffed by a handful of dedicated doctors and a few nurses, the hospital does a surprising amount of business. Perhaps this is due to the...

  • Lands End (Beach)

    Cabo San Lucas Favorites

visit the Arch at land's end. Photos of it appear in most travel ads and articles about Cabo, so it's easy to point out to friends and say 'I've been there.' Lounging beside the pool with a book and a glass with a little umbrella in it, all while the weather back home is miserable.

  • Delicias Bakery

    Loreto Favorites

Delicias Bakery is new to Loreto and has yet to have a "store front." Working from her home in Nopolo, Arelhy Flores creates a wonderful array of creations that not only look good, they taste good too. Nothing is too unusual as was evidenced by the spread she brought to celebrate Gypsy night in Loreto's town square. Contact Information: Tel....

  • Drinking

    Cabo San Lucas Favorites

Cabo is about sun, fun, and drinking. It's not a high dollar Caribbean Island, or a Euro destination. It's VERY casual and relaxed. Everyone has fun, but may not be the best place for a family trip. Try Loreto or somewhere up in the Sea of Cortez. Geeez....I have been 11 times and the only things I remember are when I see the pictures later. I did...

This shop carries aluminum and glass. The install windows and doors or make picture frames and cut the glass for all to the size you need. I needed a replacement pane of custom glass for an exterior light. I brought in the chipped piece and in my broken Spanish and his broken English we figured that he could have the two panes cut to size in...

  • Boating

    Cabo San Lucas Favorites

take a glass bottom boat ride out to Lover's Beach. A fun ride with a view of the Arch, beautiful fish, and we even chased after some whales in the ocean. Eating and drinking on the beach with our feet in the sand.

  • Food and Wine Festival

    Loreto Favorites

The Loreto Food and Wine (fund raising) Festival grew from an idea one of our residents had after attending a similar event in the US. Upon returning to Loreto and learning that the hospital did ot have much in the way of equipment, a group of residents started planning for a Mid March event. Mid March is one of the peak times when there are many...

I am not going to write much about this place since everybody can imagine how this place must look like and what you can expect from it when you go there. It's a beach resort with all kind of typical restaurants and bars, big hotels, golf resorts, McDonalds, Senhor Frog, Hard Rock Cafe and, and, and Yes, there are wonderful beachesm, yet most of...

  • Silver King Dry Marina

    Loreto Favorites

One of the key items for a marina is dry boat and trailer storage. For years this has not existed in Loreto with very minor exceptions. New in 2014 is a large Dry Marina being constructed by the Silver King Resorts organization. Located at the north end of the Malecon only a few hundred meters from the port this new facility offers outside and...

  • Driving

    Cabo San Lucas Favorites

Rent a car so you can check out the 'fancy' hotels and take a trip to San Jose and possible to Toto Santos. The warm sun and the ocean breeze. It was great just laying on the beach or by the pool and chilling out.

    Cabo San Lucas Favorites

If you are in Cabo you will face a lot of Timeshare salesman. Those sharks are on every corner, sometimes 5 in one street and that is not nice when you are on vacation. On the other hand, a timeshare presentation can safe you a lot of money. When they invited you for a timeshare presentation and you go, be sure that you are listed all activities...

    Cabo San Lucas Favorites

Do a tour! We went to Todos Santos for a few hours on a bus tour provided by Rancho Tours and had a great time. It's an artists' town and there are many galleries and souvenir shops. We saw some amazing art and bought a piece which was shipped to us. We ate at Tequila Sunrise and had the best margaritas ever! The bartender even told us how to make...

Go parasailing. You take a water taxi from the beach out to one of the speed boats used for parasailing - much safer than actually taking off from the beach, as I did in Cancun. They actually allowed these two ladies to parasail in tandem, which I don't think many places allow. (I don't know them, they were just on my boat.)

I would recommend to withdraw cash in Mexican pesos (attention, they write also $ for Mexican pesos). In most restaurants and hotels you will be able to pay in USD, but you have to consider a bit more expensive exchange rate. Euros are accepted in banks but not in exchange rate office of many hotels.

  • Our remote campground in the mountains

My husband & I made a trip down to north central Baja, Mexico for a rural camping trip at a remote national park called 1857 Revolucion Nacional Parque. We were alone with the coyotes and pine trees but our adventure was cut short by temps as low as -5 degrees celcius and a bone chilling wind that swept across the dry lake bed of Laguna Hanson....
