    Narrow one-way streets

by Agraichen Written Apr 5, 2014

Entering Mulege from Highway 1 you think you might be entering a walled compound with the grand arch announcing the town. You quickly learn that the streets narrow fast and most become one-way. Parking is all but non existent on some streets and on others where there is parking on one side only, there is barely enough room for a small vehicle let alone a camper or large truck.

    Road-side checkpoints

by Agraichen Written Feb 13, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The highway between Loreto and Mulege is notorious for a number of things (narrow, speeding, solid yellow lines are decoration) but the one thing you can count on is the military checkpoint about 40 KM from Loreto.

Normally if you're southbound, you'll just get waved through, but most times, the northbound traffic is halted and you must get out of the car while they search it. And the DO search it.
