    Le tre galline: Outstandin Italian

    Le tre galline main entrance

Ok, just accuse me to be among those Italians who go abroad and want to eat pasta and pizza. After 15 days of Mexican spicy food we wanted to eat Italian, I have to admit it. Le tre galline was an amazing surprise, one of the few restaurants open in Todos Santos after 9 pm in the low season. Magda is from the Garda lake district and offers the same range of Northern Italian cuisuine you can find in the husband's restaurant in Salò.
Ambience (indoor and outdoor) very pretty, the owner Magda is really helpful like the rest of the staff. You can have pasta, fish and meat course but not pizza; wine list not huge but ok.

    No credit cards are accepted.

Favorite Dish: Pasta is all hand-made by Magda and worths a lot.

  • Tequila Sunrise - Todos Santos: Don't miss their Chilies Relenos

by redforever Written Jan 24, 2008

We just spent 10 days in the Cabo San Lucas area and took a side trip up to Todos Santos one day. We had our best meal at the Tequila Sunrise Restaurant.

The restaurant has a very nice ambience, small, open, friendly. The walls are full of signatures from people vacationing from all over the world. Sigh, they were short of pens and the one they did have was nonfunctional, so I never got to add my 2 bits:(((

The restaurant itself is very clean, our young waiter gave us exceptional service and explained the philosophy behind the food at the restaurant. We started with some salsa and gaucamole and drinks.

We ordered their lunch special of the day - Chilies Rellenos with shrimp and it was wonderful. They presented us with a nice organic salad to start, just a nice quanitity, tasty, and just a bit of dressing, just right since we hate salads that are soggy with oil. The main dish arrived hot, perfectly cooked, very nicely presented. The chilies rellenos were much better than any I had sampled in Cabo itself, just served with a bit of rice on the side and thank God, none of the drab refried beans that accompanied too much of the food in Cabo. I found the food in Cabo quite bland and Americanized, not much original Mexican is left in a lot of the food in Cabo, more of a TexMex style.

Anyhow, I would recoommend this restaurant to any travellers to Todos Santos, I don't think you can go wrong.

    Favorite Dish: Chilies Rellenos!!!

POSADA LA POZA: Don't Miss the FRESH Seafood!

by ViajesdelMundo Written Jan 18, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

We recently made a day trip across the peninsula to TODOS SANTOS, not having been there for nearly a year. Instead of walking the town and going to the usual spots for lunch, we drove over to the Pacific Ocean, following signs for a 'Hotel/Restaurant/Galelria'
We were SO surprised to find a gorgeous location on a small lagoon!
The owners AND chefs are Swiss or other Europeans, and thus, the ambience and food were quite up-scale and different from most eateries in Baja Sur.

We had a look at their rooms; which are all lovely and private, but NOT inexpensive. (unfortunately, I could not take photos, as I had left my digital camera in Sri Lanka on my recent trip and was awaiting its return!)

Favorite Dish: We both had the FRESH fish, which was grilled, and not only was it scrumptuous, moist, flavorful and tender, but all the 4 vegetables were delightfully presented, with subtle flavoring of butter and garlic and herbs.

The appetizer salsas were original and delectable.

They also had an extensive European selection of desserts, again, both of ours being heavenly!!

Art and Beer: Drinks are out of this world!

by Bunnylbj Written Jul 10, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Art and Beer is a very unique place just outside of Todos Santos. After a long day surfing at the beach we stopped in to this unassuming bar. What an experience! The drinks are like a meal! The bloody marys have scallops, clams, shrimp, and clamato, and the fruit drinks are loaded with freshly squeezed juices. There is a lot of random art on the wall for sale but my guess is that they don't move them too often.

Favorite Dish: It'd have to be the bloody marys or margaritas - done to perfection and over the top!

    Tequila Sunrise: Interesting Graffiti everywhere

by Bunnylbj Written Jul 10, 2005

This restaurant is located directly across from the famed "Hotel California." My husband and I sat outside (because it was too loud inside) and shared a giant plate of guacamole and chips. One thing you will notice is all of the grafitti on the walls. They give you a giant magic marker to write your name etc. We sat and enjoyed the view and people watched.

Todos Santos Cafe: Great Smoothies and Breakfasts

by Bunnylbj Written Jul 10, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Todos Santos Cafe was our normal stop after we'd finish our yoga class across the road at La Arca. They have great coffees, fruit and veggie juices and breakfast food. It also has a bakery. There is a front cafe area that is decorated with many pieces of local art and a back patio that is very quaint and lovely. We also ordered pizza for a birthday party and were not disappointed.Other than breakfast and the pizza, we never ate lunch - I noticed that some of the prices were a little high. Expect to have a wait for the food. They are closed at 2 on Mondays

Favorite Dish: I was attracted to this place because the fresh carrot juice!

Taco stands along the streets: Great Taste and very cheap!!!!

by Bunnylbj Written Jul 10, 2005

Probably the best value meal we had was when we'd hit these little street vendor type taco stands. The shrimp tacos and carnitas tacos are amazing. You can sit down right there and just people watch while you eat..

Supermercado el Sol: One stop shop

    Neighborhood Market

This little mercado was literally steps from our house. Amazingly enough, it had most everything we needed to cook at home. They had a selection of produce as well. Note: If you are buying wine, it's probably best to get some from Cabo since the selection is slim!

    Shut Up Frank's: Great Burgers!

by Bunnylbj Written Jul 10, 2005

    Shut up Frank's

Shut Up Frank's is situated next to a surf shop and is a great place to go for a beer and a great burger. The atmosphere is very relaxed. There are articles on the wall and pictures of Todos Santos history. You can usually see locals having a cold beer at the bar (watching a game on the tv). There is also seating outside on the patio.

Favorite Dish: I recommend the burgers!

Hotel California: Eating with the chef-cook...

    by Ronald_T Written May 5, 2004
From left to right: Me, Elsa and Dany...

I was really surprised to meet a Belgium cook in this desolate place. Of course, this was a nice opportunity for me to speak in Dutch (Flemish). Problem was that my wife doesn't speak Dutch, so, in the end we mixed up in Spanish, Dutch and English.

He also made us a nice plate of mussels what is not so common in Mexico. They were somewhat piquant, but not too...

If it is to cool outside, you can also choose for the inside restaurant that is well designed as well...

    The outside restaurant...

Hotel California has two restaurants; one outside and one inside. Outside you can enjoy the fresh air with a nice view on the garden...
