Todos Santos Things to Do

  • Great Beach!

Nice beach close to Todos Santos, great sunsets and body surfing. They built a nice beach club in January 2007.

    more
  • Hotel California

Unfortunately in contradiction to what the tour guides say this hotel has no connection to the Eagles album by that name. Nonetheless this picturesque hotel has managed to become a major tourist attraction.

  • Misión Nuestra Señora del Pilar

Built in 1773 as an outpost of the La Paz mission, it briefly became the main mission after an uprising and the subsequent burning of the La Paz mission. The current structure was built in the 19th century.

  • Beaches.

Near Todos Santos there are several pristine and deserted beaches as San Pedrito, Los Cerritos or Pescadero.

  • Hotel California.

The Eagles never stayed here, so this is not the hotel of the song, but forget that and drink an expensive Margarita at the bar, or buy souvenirs at the hotel´s shop as everybody else does.

  • Internet Cafe

Located in the back of a stunning cactus garden is an internet cafe. I believe the outdoor patio restaurant that is also located in the cactus garden is called Cafe Listo. The internet cafe sells coffees and beers and other alcoholic drinks and the rate is approximatly 1 peso a minute (I think!!!) at any rate, it is very inexpensive to be online....

  • Surf!

Amanda and I bought our husbands surfboard for Christmas and it was a big hit. Here is Harry (my husband) with the new boards. One thing that was a major pain, however, was trying to ship the board back. We ended up checking it as luggage. When we turned up in Nashville, TN to visit some other friends, we got some strange looks!

  • Hang out around the fire pit!

After a day of sun and fun, the nights cool off and people gather around the fire pit. This is a great time to share stories and jokes or just simply stare into the fire and think.

  • Beach Boccee Ball!

We found out right away that beach bocce ball is something that the locals all do here. It's fun and a great way to meet people! Fridays were Boccee down at the beach and people would bring food and drinks and basically hang out and play boccee

  • Drink and Play Cards!

Our dear friends Mike and Amanda made the stay in Todos Santos so much fun. We spent hours and hours playing a card game called shanghai outside on our patio deck. Whenever I get depressed, I think back to that time - it's really my "happy place."

  • Hit the Beach!

If you love walking on the beach, Todos Santos is your place. Miles and miles of beautiful sand await. People drive straight on to the beach (a no-no in Florida) and unload their chairs, coolers, surfboards, kites, etc and spend the day at the beach. It's a great way to spend an afternoon!

  • Yoga

Todos Santos has a big ex-patriate community. A lot people like to gather at a place called La Arca to do yoga in the mornngs. I highly recommend these classes! They are perfect for any level, open to the public, and they are very cheap, around 30 pesos or something ridiculous! They are led by a few different women, all of whom are very good. It's...

Todos Santos Restaurants

  • Outstandin Italian

Ok, just accuse me to be among those Italians who go abroad and want to eat pasta and pizza. After 15 days of Mexican spicy food we wanted to eat Italian, I have to admit it. Le tre galline was an amazing surprise, one of the few restaurants open in Todos Santos after 9 pm in the low season. Magda is from the Garda lake district and offers the same...

  • Don't miss their Chilies Relenos

We just spent 10 days in the Cabo San Lucas area and took a side trip up to Todos Santos one day. We had our best meal at the Tequila Sunrise Restaurant. The restaurant has a very nice ambience, small, open, friendly. The walls are full of signatures from people vacationing from all over the world. Sigh, they were short of pens and the one they did...

  • Don't Miss the FRESH Seafood!

We recently made a day trip across the peninsula to TODOS SANTOS, not having been there for nearly a year. Instead of walking the town and going to the usual spots for lunch, we drove over to the Pacific Ocean, following signs for a 'Hotel/Restaurant/Galelria'We were SO surprised to find a gorgeous location on a small lagoon! The owners AND chefs...

  • Drinks are out of this world!

Art and Beer is a very unique place just outside of Todos Santos. After a long day surfing at the beach we stopped in to this unassuming bar. What an experience! The drinks are like a meal! The bloody marys have scallops, clams, shrimp, and clamato, and the fruit drinks are loaded with freshly squeezed juices. There is a lot of random art on the...

  • Interesting Graffiti everywhere

This restaurant is located directly across from the famed "Hotel California." My husband and I sat outside (because it was too loud inside) and shared a giant plate of guacamole and chips. One thing you will notice is all of the grafitti on the walls. They give you a giant magic marker to write your name etc. We sat and enjoyed the view and people...

  • Great Smoothies and Breakfasts

The Todos Santos Cafe was our normal stop after we'd finish our yoga class across the road at La Arca. They have great coffees, fruit and veggie juices and breakfast food. It also has a bakery. There is a front cafe area that is decorated with many pieces of local art and a back patio that is very quaint and lovely. We also ordered pizza for a...

  • Great Taste and very cheap!!!!

Probably the best value meal we had was when we'd hit these little street vendor type taco stands. The shrimp tacos and carnitas tacos are amazing. You can sit down right there and just people watch while you eat..

  • One stop shop

This little mercado was literally steps from our house. Amazingly enough, it had most everything we needed to cook at home. They had a selection of produce as well. Note: If you are buying wine, it's probably best to get some from Cabo since the selection is slim!

  • Great Burgers!

Shut Up Frank's is situated next to a surf shop and is a great place to go for a beer and a great burger. The atmosphere is very relaxed. There are articles on the wall and pictures of Todos Santos history. You can usually see locals having a cold beer at the bar (watching a game on the tv). There is also seating outside on the patio. I recommend...

Todos Santos Nightlife

  • Good Pizza and Entertainment

Santanas has great pizzas, makes great margaritas, and also has great live music. We had a few really fun nights there where we all got up and danced. Our friends got quite a workout! The band was really fun and it was a lively atmosphere. Get there early to get a seat - it's one of the only really happening places to go at night! Casual

If you're looking to save some money and have extra time to spare, you can walk to the bus stop about 3/4 mile from the airport and take the local bus into San Jose, then take the Aquila bus to Todos Santos. Go right out of the airport and cross the road (small cantina/palapa, stop for liquid refreshment), then down the hwy on the left side of the...

Todos Santos Tourist Traps

  • Overrated

We were all really excited to try out the famed Hotel California. It has a great decor and ambiance and certainly has potential. After a long wait, our dinner was underwhelming. The tortilla soup was bad. The service was horrible. We were sitting next to an obnoxious family that was yelling and very rowdy. We all felt cheated and then got stuck...
