As in all Mexican towns, the local market (Mercado) is a must-see area. It is here that townsfolk congregate and shop for meat, seafood, fruits and vegetables and other goods.
In Campeche, the Merecado is just outside the city wall, on Ave Balartes Este between Calles 51 and 53. Right beside the Mercado is also the leaving-point for the Edzna vans, so it a very congested part of town.
