I am not sure about which calender they use these days, but most of the moments / days / hours they are to late, so maybe its like this.... the tourist needs to use the Mayan calender to have an appontment with a Mexican or the Mexican needs a "normal"calender....... Manjana !
As you can see on this picture this sells-man doesnt look very happy. Well imagine there are about 100 shops on the 5th Boulevard and you are one of them. And like you and other 20 shops sell the same kind of things as you do ! I think i wouldnt be happy too. One of the things you can do to make them a little more happy is having a look IN their shop even if you dont need a thing.
I had to take this pictures because of the name. We call the brand of the icecreams the compagnie sells OLA. But in Mexico they call it HOLANDA! And that is a good thing... ha ha
Isnt not as nice as in the Dominican Republic and not so many as there too, but on a lot of places you can find the Mexican bands. They make the lovely Mexican music and even on the beaches are they to be found. This is just on a corner of the street somewhere near the beach of Playa. But it has to be said : Local music is great to hear on the streets, it gives you that holiday feeling.
This is an other way to make sure all the Mexicans (and tourists) will have their Corona. Corona is one of the most famous beers in Mexico and you can see a lot of these little cars driving around but also the "normal" beer (tank) trucks. This little car is very handy in the busy traffic of 5th Boulevard !
Walking on the 5th Avenue we saw this tiny little restaurant (with no seats) where you could have a tippical Mexican meal. You had to order a take-away cause there wasnt a space left to sit down. This locals do anything that comes up in their minds to get some money and they are so right. Its better then asking for money. This lady had here own little kitchen somewhere on the most important street of Playa del Carmen..... But if you dont dare to have a meal with her then check the website.
