If you are in Playa del Carmen and you like a boattrip to Cozumel just easy can do that. (see time schedule on website). At Cozumel you can have a great shopping and snorkling time. If you go more then one day there is the possebility to stay in an hotel for some days or even spend your whole holiday there, then its a nice boattrip to see Playa del Carmen.

Great to have this all inclusive in your package of the hotel. The hotel pendel bus, cause the taxi's are really expensice. All you have to do is be there on time (in the lobby of the hotel or the busstop in Playa) and sit down. And when you liked the tour you can give the driver some $$$$$ so he can have a good meal with his family.

If you are getting very sick on your holiday its a good thing they are there, but you better stay out of them.
Only if you can make a joy-ride (but with a chauffeur) it could be nice and something different to tell when you get back home.

If you only like to see the ferry and do like to go on boats (like us) then you can just sit down in the ferry-stop and enjoy the ferry coming and going. Its a great view to see the boat coming and the island too. Only if its a clear day you can see Cozumel at sea in a distance.

The ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel and Cozumel to Playa del Carmen makes the trip fast and convenient. The trip takes approximately 40 minutes. The ferry is air conditioned and has movie theater seating. Be warned the ride can be rough and if you have a tendency toward "seasickness" take your medication in time for it to start working.
Tickets can be purchased at booths near the docks, ticket prices are appx. $8 usd one way.
Please Note: Ferry schedule can change due to weather conditions; ie high winds or waves.

Ofcourse there is a possebility to take a taxi (ever been to a place where are tourists and no taxi's?).
They are waiting for you in long lines on special places just for taxi's.
But you can also call them or see them around the hotel waiting for you.

While walking in the street we came across this busstop. This is a stop that will bring you to same places in and around Playa del Carmen.

There are a lot of Mexican people who use these kind of bikes, not only to transport their own goods but also to bring you from A to Z. Some even have installed a chair on those bikes, they get some dollars or pesos and you get where you wanna go !

The shuttle was riding every half hour from 9 in the morning till 12 am, then from 14 till 17.
The first pick up in Playa del Carmen was 9:30 am and also every half hour. The last pick up was at 5 pm. Make sure you are there on time cause it can be that the driver uses a "normal" calender.....but waiting about 30 mintues is also very normal.

There was a little bus taking us from the hotel to Playa del Carmen. It would bring you there in about 30 minutes. There were two busses, one with airco and one without. Make sure you are in time at the reception from the hotel, cause then you could hop in to the one with airco.
