Getting to Bonampak
From Palenque we booked a trip arranged by Na Chan Kan. We left Palenque at 6:00am and returned about 8:00pm. From Palenque our van took us to the edge of the Bonampak park, where a local Lacondon Maya drove us in. Our trip also included Yaxchilan, so after visiting Bonampak our van took us to Frontera Corozal where we boarded a lancha. Yaxchilan is about 1hr by boat. After Yaxchilan and some lunch we headed home. Overall the trip was well arranged, and we were picked up at our hotel and dropped off at the door. We highly recommend Na Chan Kan. (They arrange MANY local trips) but the trip is also doable on your own.

To the ruins
There are some possibilitys to go to the ruins from the entrance: you can go with a mini-bus, hire a bicycle or walk.
I deceided to walk for those 9 km. It took some time bit it was very interesting, because the road goes right through the jungle and I saw quite few interesting animals. I've seen some of them for the first time in my life and don't have a clue what they were.
