simple food and drink menu at reasonable prices. there is a sofa and 4 tables and the walls are covered with a huge variety of paintings and photos. there are big windows so you can look out on the main street and watch the people walking by plus it has wireless internet
Favorite Dish: it is the only place in creel with bagels and mini pizzas. the people working are really friendly and offer free advice on hotels and tours
At time of my visit in March 2008 the restaurant scene in Creel yet had to take off and the choice was limited to a handful of family-restaurants serving Mexican comida corrida and dishes from the local tradition. Restaurant Veronica, in the heart of Main Street, was a popular place for an informal meal in a homey atmosphere. On the menu a choice of Mexican-style beef, chicken and seafood plates as well as few international standards such as rib-eye, sirloin and T-bone steaks. The Camarones a la Mexicana (shrimps in a tomato gravy with onion and chili served with rice and fried beans) that I tried were good. Cerveza for drinking, homemade cakes for dessert. Be aware the sauce they serve with the complimentary chips is spicy. The Restaurant also serves breakfast from 7:30 am.
At time of my visit in March 2008, Restaurant Pizza del Rey was the only place in Creel's city center providing an alternative to hamburgers, hot dogs and Mexican local traditional food. Choice of pizzas was extensive and quality was decent by international standards. Water or sodas for drinking, alcohol was not served. Very informal place, crowded with youngsters and tourists.
If you are on a tight budget or just if you are in the mood of a quick bite, you will find in the city center a choice of many street vendors selling different kind of food such hamburgers and hotdogs as well as fruit and churros (sweet snacks). You may get to a complete meal from the main course to the dessert just walking by and stopping at the different stalls.
Recommended by Lonely Planet........so we checked it out.......and liked it. A great place to try local dishes.
Favorite Dish: We went there twice.........the first visit I had menudo and the second time, some spicy pork soup.
