Parillada: Food from Jalisco
By the time we had finished seeing patients it was already well past 11 pm. the last patient, a jovial local man, invited us to taste Tostadas at this favourite eatery of his, so we closed the office and went with him. Even at this midnight hour there were people coming for snacks or dinners..
Favorite Dish: Tostadas with Aguacate, estilo jalisco
fresh melocoton juice
Sams Bar and Grill: An old establishment under new management
I had just arrived in Piedras Negras and dropped off at the medical offices of a good friend of mine. I wanted some thing for breakfast. An elderly patient waiting there suggested i go around the corner to this restaurant. One can see that it has been there for a while and also that it has undergone modifications. it is under new managemnt
Favorite Dish: after the plastic food of the united states and at Tucson recently, it was a pleasure to dig into some real food for a change
there is a freshness and newness that one associates with a new management
i had egg whites in cilandtro and mexicana sauce with corn tortillas, refried beans. coffee
just 53 pesos, 7 pesos tip, under 6 usd, or 4 euro
Asadero Grill: A great mix of everything
In the center of Piedras Negras is located this great Mexican cuisine restaurant. They have succulent grilled beef in a pleasant atmosphere with an unsurpassable service. Delicious steak and arrachera tacos with guacamole that will delight your palate. Taste their exquisite sauces and let yourself be hypnotized by the flavors of Peidras.
Favorite Dish: Fajitas and Tecate.
Rancho steak: Sucked!
This Resturaunt was so bad that I thought I was on a reality television show! The food was wrong, the drinks were wrong,,,, How does a Mexican resturaunt get a margarita wrong 3 times and it still taste horible? The fried jalopena`s were so bad, I think that we were the first people to order them in this place.
There were screaming children at every table except ours and I think the waiter was on drugs.
Favorite Dish: None!
Sam's Restaurante: Home of the Nacho
This restaurant reminds me in many ways of an American franchise establishment, but with a decided Mexican flavor. It is simply but tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The service is excellent and the food delicious.
Favorite Dish: When you're in Piedras Negras you've gotta have Nachos, because this is the city where they were born. Ignacia "Nacho" Anaya, a maitre d' at a local restaurant served the first ever plate of Nachos in 1943. Today it is a classic Tex-Mex dish which is enjoyed over a wide part of the planet. An annual nacho competition is held in Piedras Negras on the 2nd weekend of October, with Anaya's son as the judge.
