Sunday is the market day of Atotonilco, and what is typically a dusty isolated spooky hamlet becomes awash with pilgrims and merchants. Visit Atotonilco twice. Once empty and once full. And if you need to purchase a rosary, this is the place! I even found some Pope John Paul II hankerchiefs. Now is that cool or what?

Visit the church is almost the only thing you can do threre. Inside the church you can appreciate the main nave and all the walls are decorated with murals that represent innumerable religious passages and personalities, all without much space nor order between one and the other.

Itinerant Vendors hawk a variety of items for penitants who come to Atotonilco. Some of the items reflect a high degree of skill.
What to buy: Silver charms. Many penitants seek a cure for their afflictions and suffering. Often they are cured. Penitants will express their appreciation by leaving small cast silver items shaped like a hand or a foot that are left as a token of gratitude and honor for the beneficent saint.
