This is arguably the most well known spot in Guanajuato, as it is used as the "meeting spot" for all tourists and locals alike. IT is in the center of everything, and you could spend hours sitting on the steps and people watching without getting bored. This was the place everyone gathered from the entire city to people watch, meet the gang, and watch all the happenings in the city. It is a building with many steps, and people are always gathered there watching the parades, or seeing the art exhibited around...it is really quite amazing, because no matter where you are in the city, everyone knows that Teatro Juarez is the designated meeting spot and once you see it, you can assess how much further you need to go.... If in Guanajuato, must visit this small and always packed salsa bar located on a second floor of a historical building. Seating space is very limited but not necesserily needed because everybody's dancing throughout the whole night anyway. Drinks are very affordable, atmospere live and exciting, people amazing.
Had a chance to visit Guanajuato twice and both times had an amazing time at that bar.
Below the bar you can find a restaurant under the same name for a quick but tasty bite. Very affordable.
Highly recommend it.

In the city of Guanajuato you will see a huge statue.It is a top a hill,and made of white marble.It is called 'Monumento a El Pipila.
Take the Funical (rail car) on up;it is located

The tradition in Guanajuato is to walk in the night thru some streets with an "Estudiantina", there are guy that play traditional songs with guitars.

I was only there during the week and a lot of the places I tried to go to for a drink were closed, I think they only really party at weekends ( I'm such a big city girl - I can't get used to having to wait for the weekend if I want to go out!)
But there are nice cafes and bars everywhere, so don't worry, I didn't go thirsty ;-) Leave a Comment Theme: People Watching

just walk around guanajuato at night and follow the music. there are always musicians on the street and group performances from companies, dance groups, bands of all kinds of music, and university student groups. locations vary but mainly happen on the main plazas.
