from Leon Airport (BJX) you can get a Taxi from the Taxi Desk into downtown Leon for apx 200 N-Pesos (apx$20US), or if your on a budget, traveling light & don't mind walking about 200 yards out to the hwy you can catch a bus into downtown for less than a 10N-Peso's ($1US)
just exit out the front of the airport and past the taxis walk west on the airport access street towards the Highway when you get there turn to the right (north) and walk to the bus stop. wait for the local bus it stops along the way into downtown. this take longer than the taxi, but cost 5% of the taxi fee. to get back to the airport by taking the bus back or catch a taxi negotiate the fee to the airport, i usually pay about 100 to 120 N-Pesos ($10 - $12US). i seem the airport taxi desk makes a few bucks of the fees leaving the airport.

I arrived into Leon by Primera Plus bus. It cost about 40pesos to get a taxi ride downtown from the bus station and took about ten minutes. To get to the Leon-Bajio International Airport (BJX) it takes about half an hour by taxi and cost 200 pesos. There are a few food stalls at the airport and a duty free store.

Be careful and watchful when shopping in la plaza de la piel, don't flash cash in public, take purchases back to hotel instead of carrying around, and watch for other customers as they might be watching your purse.

Favorite thing: Leon is the center for the Leather industry. If you are looking for cowboy boots, shoes, jackets or anything leather, you can find it here. In the area near the convention center and Plaza Zapata, there are hundreds of stores selling leather goods at real low prices.

Favorite thing: Here I stand at a nice old car at the hotel entrance. I went to León for a seminar, so I had few time to go to the downtown area.
