 | San Miguel de Allende Restaurants | Tips 1 - 10 of 32 | | We ate dinner one night at our hotel, Casa de Sierra Nevada. The cuisine is international and the food was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant for more formal dining. The restaurant has both a beautiful indoor dining room and a charming courtyard/patio.
One dish that particularly stands out is a superb cream of garlic and onion soup. In fact, it was so good, I asked the chef for the recipe 4 times. Each time he said "Come back in __ (2, 4, 12 hours, tomorrow, fill in the blank) and I will have it for you." Each time I came back, it wasn't ready for me. Finally, when we checked out, the chef took my address and said he would mail it. We are still waiting. Call me crazy, but my favourite restaurant in San Miguel is an Italian restaurant...L'Invito. This restaurant is located inside the beautiful Instituto Allende and has an amazing view of the Parroquia especially when it glows pink at sunset. The owner, Silvia, is from Milan and she knows how to please. Her specials are always amazing and if you put her in charge of your menu you will not be let down. Monday through Friday food AND drinks are half off from 4-7pm.

In addition to being a lovely restaurant, Jacaranda is also a hotel and movie theatre. For meals, they serve inside in the intimate dining room or outside on the verdant patio. The food and service are both excellent.
The filete was amazing. Leave a Comment

Cha Cha Cha is a cozy little Mexican restaurant ran by a Mexican-American couple in the neighborhood of Colonia San Antonio. They have great cheap meals and a lovely patio decorated with streamers and bird cages. The specials are always good. Bugambilia is a beautiful Mexican restaurant near the Jardin. Although the interior is lovely, the courtyard is filled with star-lights and the sounds of live mariachi music. The food is very good as is the service. I enjoyed la sopa azteca, the filete, and also the fajitas. This restaurant serves breakfasts and lunches (and even dinners) in a cozy courtyard near the Parroquia. I enjoyed the chilaquiles verdes for breakfast. Food is simple, hearty, and decently priced. The atmosphere is relaxing with a central fountain and birds singing from cages. Azafran is a stylish restaurant in the center of San Miguel that serves Mediterranean fusion cuisine. The white walls provide a classic backdrop for elegant tables and amazing dishes. The service is exquisite. Everything I ate was delicious and I would love to go back to try the other menu items. Highly recommended for an elegant/romantic evening out. Conveniently located near the Jardin on Mesones, this Chinese restaurant is a refreshing stop after a long day of shopping or sight-seeing. Expect slow service, but the food is worth the wait. Nice courtyard appearance, and while you are waiting for your food, there is a really nice CHOCOLATE store inside the courtyard area. Yum!
I had the Teriyaki Chicken. It was WONDERFUL. Leave a Comment Theme: Chinese/Dim SumPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Mesones 57
