This is a very traditional and well known place in Acapulco: most of the locals will recommend it to the tourists as one of the most famous restaurants in town. They have 3 different spots where you can enjoy their cuisine. All of the 3 restaurants are located near downtown, they all have a quite Mexican environment and a nice attention & quality of the food. The original one is right in downtown, a block or two away from the main square (zocalo); in order to get there, you must follow the Costera Avenue past the main square, then turn right in the first street you find and then left (again, in the first street you find). You'll see a neon advertisement on a blue building, but they have another facility right across the street, which is more cozy and has a better appearance (red/white tableclothes and wooden chairs). The third facility is located right on the Costera Avenue past the Papagayo Park (east-west direction), right across the street from a couple of big supermarkets: Bodega Aurrera and Bodega Gigante.
Try the Special Fish (that used to be its name at least: this last time I found it in the menu as Filete Miguel), which is stuffed with sea fruits and covered with a slightly hot creamy sauce... The "Pulpo enamorado" (meaning "Octopus in love"....!?) is also great -- it's an octopus cocktail prepared with mayonnaise, tomato and celery, really yummy! They have a lot of good stuff there besides these things, anyway. Prices pretty acceptable, service is fast, place is clean. Just watch out what time you get there: the facility on the Costera Ave. is closed at 8 PM and the other 2 are closed at 9 PM everyday. Not suitable for people who like late dinners, such as myself! An interesting tip: this place has very low prices when it comes to regular fish, but when it comes to seafood cocktails (shrimps, octopus, etc.) they are somewhat high, so keep it in mind when you order... you can have a big dish of fish with salad for less $$ than what it would cost you a small plate of octopus cocktail... weird! ENTRANCE TO LA CONCHA by travelgourmet The La Concha is located at the private Beach Club for guests of the Las Brisas Resort. It has one of the spectacular views of Acapulco Bay from your ocean side table. The entrance to the restaurant through the Club grounds, passes by two salt water pools and one fresh water pool. Dramatically placed throughout the grounds are stately palms and tropical plants. The food at La Concha is refreshing for a mid day feast. Seafood is the specialty and the chefs know how to prepare fish to bring out the flavors and to also have the aromas of cooked fish be so mouth watering, is gourmet worthy.
The buffet is outstanding with many different types of seafood dishes with tropical highlights in the marinades and sauces. Delicious and very filling. To my disappointment, restaurants in Acapulco do not compare with Mexico City, especially on the upper end of the scale. You can taste deliciously refreshing fruit cocktails at 100% Natural (an ideal place for a great breakfast), eat fresh ceviche while fighting the bees in a hidden fish restaurant near the bottom of Costera Miguel Aleman or dine out Spanish style on the other end of the same road, by the beach. For a dinner with the stunning view of the bay of Acapulco at night, go to Madeiras and eat al fresco their fixed courses menu (international Mexican food). Alternatively, drive 500 m. further up on the hill to find CasaNova, a good Italian restaurant with a sophisticated interior decoration and over-priced dishes (saltimbocca for MXP270!). The 'in' place to eat with Mexicans and tourists alike remains Carlos 'n' Charlies on the costera Miguel Aleman. Loud music, lots of atmosphere and average food. Spicey's on the hill also looks very popular with Mexicans. But I'm yet to find anywhere close to the quality of Maxim's in Mexico DF. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Kick around, try anything that looks good. Prices are affordable, atmosphere is warm and it's an open air type overlooing the Bay.
I had a meal at 'The Ranch' that was out of this world. It was a wonderful steak that had been skewered with a small piece of bamboo, then they rubbed peppercorns into the holes left by the bamboo, cooked to perfection. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by Pinoy RANAS RESTAURANT Considering the view of St. Prisca Church and Plaza de Borda below, Ranas has made it as a favorite restaurant. A brief overview of St. Prisca: The church was built in 1778 and 8 years to finish. There are tour guides in the church, but you must ask whether the price is per person or per tour. Too many good restaurants. The seafood restaurants on the main strip are excellent. Also most of the Italian restaurants are fantastic. Good Mexican food just outside of town on the hill. I don't recall what it is called but it has good food and a great view.
Milkshakes! Real vanilla and strawberries - no artificial flavouring. CocoLocos! Everything but the kitchen sink in this baby and boy is it good! You don't notice how many you've had until you have to walk. Leave a Comment Theme: Other
